Happy Father's Day - Prostration

                                 Pitri-Devo Bhavah

        (Father should be treated and respected as God)

         Janakashchopaneta cha yashcha Vidyam prayachhati

        Anna-daataa Bhaya-traataa Paschietay Pitarah Smrita॥

Meaning:

Father is the giver of birth - he also gives Sanskaars* - knowledge, and wisdom - 

provides food and protects from fear. 

He teaches and shows the ways to live a refined and comfortable life.

 

Besides the giver of birth - anyone who provides us Sanskars - 

knowledge - wisdom, and Gyan - food and protection, is also called father.

Tribute to all such great persons - and thousand prostrations to those 

who provided me with one or all of the above.

Prostration to all Fathers and teachers.
