रेत पर ही घर बना लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

इश्क़ में ख़ुद को मिटा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

दूसरों को आसमानों पर चढ़ाने के लिए 

हसरतें अपनी मिटा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

सैर बेशक कीजिए इस दुनिया के बाज़ार की 

दिल मगर इस से लगा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

एक दिन तो छोड़ के सब को चले जाना है पर 

आज ही दूरी बना लेना - अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

चार दिन की ज़िंदगी में ख़ामख़ा ही दोस्तो
हर किसी की बद् दुआ लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

और इक उड़ता परिंदा भी पकड़ने के लिए 

हाथ में जो है गवा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं **

माज़ी को तो हम बदल सकते नहीं हरगिज़ मगर 

मुस्तक़बिल को भी गवा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं 

बाँटने से ज्ञान 'राजन'  कम नहीं होता कभी 

इल्म को पाकर छुपा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं

अक़्लमंदी       =     बुद्धिमता, स्यानप Wisdom, Intellect

ख़्वा-मख़्वाह (फ़ारसी) (अक़्सर बोलने में कहा जाता है - ख़ामख़ा:) = अनावश्यक, बेवजह, बेकार, ज़बरदस्ती, न चाहते हुए भी 

माज़ी     = अतीत, भूतकाल, बीता हुआ समय, वो समय जो बीत चुका हो Past 

मुस्तक़बिल = भविष्य, आने वाला समय Future 

इल्म          =  ज्ञान Knowledge, Wisdom 

**  (एक और परिंदा पकड़ने के लालच में जो हाथ में है वो भी गवा लेना अक़्लमंदी नहीं होती 

अर्थात नए दोस्त, संबंधी, अथवा समर्थक एवं अनुयायी बनाने के लालच में 

जो हमारे पास पहले से हैं उन्हें खो देना समझदारी नहीं है)

Rait par hee ghar banaa lena aqalmandi nahin 

Ishq mein khud ko mitaa lena aqalmandi nahin 

Doosron ko aasmanon par chadhaanay kay liye 

Hasraten apni mitaa lena aqalmandi nahin 

Sair beshaq keejiye is duniya kay baazar ki 

Dil magar is say lagaa lena aqalmandi nahin  

Ek din to chhod kay sab ko chalay jaana hai par 

Aaj hi doori banaa lena aqalmandi nahin 

Chaar din ki zindagi mein khaamkha hi dosto 

Har kisi ki bad-dua lena aqalmandi nahin 

Aur ik udtaa parinda bhi pakadnay kay liye 

Haath mein jo hai gavaa lena aqalmandi nahin 

Maazi ko to hum badal saktay nahin hargiz magar 

Mustaqbil ko bhi gavaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Building a home on sand is not wise.

Losing one's own self entirely in love is not wise.

To elevate others to the skies 

Extinguishing one's own desires completely is not wise.

By all means, wander through the marketplace of this world,

But letting your heart become attached to it is not wise.

One day, we must leave everything behind and depart,

But creating distance while we are still here is not wise.

In this transient, fleeting life, O my friends, 

Incurring the ill-will of others is not wise. 

To catch another bird that is in flight, 

Losing what is already in your hand is not wise.

(To make new friends, acquaintances, supporters, or followers, 

Losing the ones we already have is not wise) 

Certainly we cannot change the past, but

Squandering the future as well is not wise. 

Sharing knowledge never diminishes it, 'O Rajan 

Concealing the wisdom one has gained is not wise.

Looking back, all in all, life was good 

Though all paths were not smooth, yet the journey flowed well.

One day, 'Rajan' too will become nothing but a story,

Na jaanay kyon mujhay mehfil mein chup rehna nahin aata
Zamaanay kay ishaaron par mujhay chalnaa nahin aata

सचाई को बनावट के बिना कहने की आदत है

डुबो के चाशनी में बात को कहना नहीं आता 

पहाड़ों जैसे दुःख भी झेलते कुछ लोग देखे हैं 

मगर थोड़ा सा दुःख या'रब मुझे सहना नहीं आता 

उन्हें देखो जिन्हें दो वक़्त खाना भी नहीं मिलता

हमें सब कुछ मिला है पर शुकर करना नहीं आता

हमें भी शानो शोहरत मिल तो सकती थी ज़माने में

उसूलों से मगर  'राजन' हमें गिरना नहीं आता

जीवन में जब द्वन्द बढ़ने लगे

हृदय जब दुःखों से बिखरने लगे

जीवन निरर्थक जो लगने लगे 

भर जाए मन में इक गहरी निराशा

न आए नज़र धुंधली सी भी आशा  

पाओं अगर लड़खड़ाने लगें 

छाया से भी घबराने लगें 

तो लेना प्रभु का सहारा प्रिये 

वो करुणा का सागर दया ही करेगा 

तुम्हारे लिए -  सभी के लिए 

जो है अनादि अनंत वही है 

जिसने बनाया ये ब्रह्मांड सारा 

वो ही रचयिता वही कर्ता धर्ता

वही एक है सब का पालनहारा 

करो उसका चिंतन - चिंता को छोड़ो 

सुमिरन में 'राजन' मन अपना जोड़ो

When conflicts multiply in life 

When the heart begins to shatter with sorrow

Then take refuge in the Lord, my dear,

Seek refuge in the Eternal, my dear—

His door is open and will always remain open

For you - for everyone.

When life seems meaningless,

When the heart is filled with deep despair 

When darkness surrounds you on all sides 

And not even a glimmer of hope is visible 

When steps begin to tremble 

And you fear even your own shadow—

Then take refuge in the Eternal Lord, my dear,

He is an ocean of compassion. He will surely show mercy

For you - for everyone.

That which is beginningless is also endless 

(the True Reality)

Who created this entire universe 

He is the creator, the sustainer,

He alone is the provider of all. 

Meditate on Him - leave your worries behind,

O 'Rajan'- Connect your mind to Him in Sumiran, 

And keep the lamps of faith burning

Khamosh rehnay ka hunar - Art of being Silent

Na jaanay dil mein kyon sabar-o-shukar ab tak nahin aaya
Mujhay khamosh rehnay ka hunar ab tak nahin aaya

Sunay bhee hain, sunaaye bhee hain afsanay mohabbat kay
Vafaa kee raah pay chalnaa magar ab tak nahin aaya

Umar guzri yahaan rehtay magar phir bhi na jaanay kyon
Khudaya! Raas mujh ko ye shehar ab tak nahin aaya

Jahaan nafrat na ho koyi mohabbat hee mohabbat ho
Nigaahon ko nazaara ye nazar ab tak nahin aaya

Shamaa jalti rahi shab bhar sajaaye khwaab aankhon mein
Magar koyi bhee parvaana idhar ab tak nahin aaya

Zaraa si baat say vo dil sabhi ka moh letay hain

I don’t know why patience and gratitude have still not filled my heart.

I have yet to learn the art of remaining silent.

Have heard the tales of love, and told them too - 

But to walk the path, I yet have to learn

A lifetime has passed living here, yet I don’t know why—

O God, this place still does not feel like home to me.

A place where there is no hatred, only love everywhere 

My eyes have yet to witness such a sight. 

The lamp (of truth) kept burning all night, with dreams adorned in the eyes; 

But not a single moth (genuinely interested in its light) has come this way yet.

With the simplest of words and analogies, they win the hearts of everyone 

In my words and speech, that effect still has not come, says Rajan.

ख़ामोश रहने का हुनर अब तक नहीं आया

न जाने दिल में क्यों सबरो-शुकर अब तक नहीं आया 

मुझे  ख़ामोश रहने  का  हुनर अब  तक नहीं आया 

सुने भी हैं, सुनाये भी हैं - अफ़साने मोहब्बत के 

वफ़ा की राह पे चलना मगर अब तक नहीं आया 

उमर गुज़री यहाँ रहते मगर फिर भी न जाने  क्यों 

ख़ुदाया - रास मुझको ये शहर अब तक नहीं आया 

जहां नफ़रत न हो कोई मोहब्बत ही मोहब्बत हो 

निगाहों को नज़ारा ये नज़र अब तक नहीं आया 

शमा जलती रही शब भर सजाए ख़्वाब आँखों में 

मगर कोई भी परवाना इधर अब तक नहीं आया

ज़रा सी बात से वो दिल सभी का मोह लेते हैं

मेरी बातों में 'राजन' वो असर अब तक नहीं आया

दुनिया में हर काम की तदबीर बदलती रहती है

लगता है  इंसान की  तक़दीर बदलती रहती है 

आती जाती रहती हैं 'राजन' ये शान और शोहरतें 

शीशा रहता है वही - तस्वीर बदलती रहती है

The style and ways of working keep changing with time

It seems that a person’s destiny also keeps changing. 

Fame and glory often come and go, says Rajan 

The mirror remains the same — but the reflection keeps changing.

Naam letay hain vo (They mention the name with....)

Naam letay hain vo aakhir kyon dushnaam say  (Disdain)

Jin say hum milay hamesha Ehtiraam say    (Respectfully)

Beqaraari me na aayi neend raat bhar

Dil udaas tha bahut hee kal ki sham say 

Jab muqablaa nahin mera kisi kay saath

Kyon hasad hai phir bhi unko meray naam say

                 (Envy)

Ab karoon gila agar to kis tarah karoon

Gham diye hain us nay kitnay Ehtiraam say 

                                                     (Respectfully)

Be-khudi me chaak ho gayaa tha pairhan

See raha hoon ab baday hee Ehtimaam say

Gar buraa karay koyi to bakhsh do usay

Kya milega tum ko aakhir intekaam say

Kal jo phirtay thay yahan darvesh ki tarah

Aaj chal rahay hain kitnay Ehtishaam say

Kyon nazar rakhtay ho doosron kay kaam par

Kaam rakhna chahiye bus apnay kaam say 

Seekh len agar hunar ham beniyaazi ka  (Detachment)

Zindgi guzregi yaaro phir aaraam say 

Chhod day Maalik pay apni zindgi ki dor 

Hongay maslay hal usi kay intezaam say

Sach na mil sakega padhnay aur sunanay say

Why do they utter my name with disdain,
Those with whom I always meet with honor and respect?

Restless through the night, I could not sleep —
My heart was heavy and sad since yesterday evening.

When I contend with no one, seek no acclaim,
Why do they feel envy at the mention of my name?

And how can I complain to them — in which way?
For they gave me sorrow too — with courtesy and grace.

In my heedlessness, my garment was torn apart.
Now I am trying to mend it with great care and caution.

If someone wrongs you, forgive and let it be
What will you truly gain by taking revenge?

Those I once saw humble and wandering like beggars,
Now roam in splendor —adorned with pride and preen.

Why do you keep an eye on what others do?

One should mind only one’s own affairs.

If we could learn the skill of calm detachment,

Then life, my friends, would flow with ease and in peace. 

Surrender the reins of your life to the Master (of the universe)
All troubles will dissolve by His divine arrangements.

Truth cannot be found merely by reading, studying, or listening,
It dawns within as realization — through the soul’s awakening and stirring.

All the grandeur and splendor of this world are false & fleeting;

O Rajan, now let your heart dissolve in the love and glory of All-pervading Ram.

अब करुं  गिला अगर तो किस तरह करुं 

ग़म दिए हैं उसने कितने एहतिराम से

बेख़ुदी में चाक हो गया था पैरहन 

सी रहा हूँ अब बड़े ही एहतिमाम से 

                                  (सावधानी से)

गर बुरा करे कुई तो बख़्श दो उसे 

क्या मिलेगा तुम को आख़िर इंतकाम से 

कल जो फिरते थे यहां दरवेश की तरह 

आज चल रहे हैं  कितने एहतिशाम से

क्यों नज़र रखते हैं दूसरों  के काम पर 

काम रखना चाहिए बस अपने काम से 

सीख लें अगर हुनर हम बेनियाज़ी का   (अनासक्ति)

ज़िंदगी गुज़रेगी यारो फिर आराम से 

छोड़ दे मालिक पे अपनी ज़िंदगी की डोर 

होंगे मसले हल उसी के इंतज़ाम से 

सच न मिल सकेगा पढ़ने और सुनने से 

मारफ़त मिलेगी रुह के इल्हाम से

बेनियाज़ी     = अपेक्षा रहित, बेफ़िक्री 

मारफ़त      = आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान, Spiritual wisdom,

Every day, the mirror asks me 

Why does your image keep changing?

The age keeps fading day by day,

So does the face - it keeps changing every day.

Where does it ever pause, this journey’s flow?

The river of life keeps moving — it never slows.

What is this bond between body and soul?

How is it formed — and how does it dissolve?

Who comes (into the world)— and from where do they come?

Who takes birth — and who is the one who ceases to survive?

Such is the law of Nature’s design —

We reap exactly what we sow in time.

This fame and glory are like ocean tides 

High today, and tomorrow it subsides.

It sinks down quietly in the evening

That sun which rises in majestic pride in the morning 

No cure exists for the heart’s deep pain 

Where and when was love ever tamed?

औरों के हर इक काम पे रखता है तू नज़र

दूसरों की ग़लतियाँ आसां है देखना
तू ऐ दिले नादान - हुनर हर बशर के देख

वक़्त से पहले कभी कुछ भी नहीं मिलता
तू छोड़ दे शिकायतें और सबर कर के देख

मंज़िलों का मिलना भी मुश्किल नहीं ऐ दोस्त

One day, we will too..... Ek din ham bhi ....

During the recent visit of Respected Raj Mami ji and Narinder Mama ji to Chicago, we almost continually talked about Bhapa Ram Chand ji Maharaj.

And in those heartfelt conversations, a thought kept echoing in my mind...

How rare and blessed are those souls who, even long after they have physically departed, continue to live vividly in the hearts and thoughts of those who knew them.

Bhapa Ram Chand ji was one such divine soul — a presence so pure, so deeply rooted in devotion and humility, that even time cannot fade his imprint.

His simplicity, his loving nature, his calm presence, and wisdom — they all left an unspoken mark on every life he touched. 

As we shared memories, stories, and small moments we had witnessed, it felt as if he was with us — smiling gently, listening quietly, and silently blessing. 

There was a certain energy and peace in remembering him. 

It reminded us that true saints don’t just live in time — they live beyond time.

Their lives are not just remembered — they become living guidance for generations to come.

And remembering them — talking about them — is our way of staying close to them.

Of keeping their light alive in our hearts. 

However, it also made me think - -

What about us?

One day, we too will become just a story —

But let it be a story worth retelling, again and again.

What’s in a face? It will turn to dust one day.
