Inspire us to do welfare work for others - Rig Veda

योनिष्ट इन्द्र सदने अकारि तमा नृभिः पुरुहूत प्र याहि।

असो यथा नोऽविता वृधे च ददो वसूनि ममदश्च सोमैः॥ 

                                      ॥ ऋग्वेद ७-२४-१॥ 

हे दीप्तिमान परमेश्वर ! आपके लिए उपयुक्त (श्रद्धास्पद) स्थान हमारे हृदय में है। 

आप अपनी शक्तियों के साथ हमारे हृदय में विराजमान होकर हमें अनुग्रहित करें। 

हमारे संरक्षक बने और परहित के कार्य करने के लिए हमें प्रेरित करें। 

हमें अपने सोमरस* से आनंदित करें।

* सोमैः सोमरस = अर्थात  अमृत Elixir, सुधा Nector, दवा, सत Essence 

  

O, Glorious God ! The right* place for you is in our hearts. 

May you grace us with your powers by being seated in our hearts. 

Be our patron and inspire us to do welfare work for others. 

Make us rejoice with your Som Ras (elixir).

* Right place = Appropriate, Respectful place

** Som Ras is usually (unfortunately) translated as wine 

but it actually means Elixir, Nector, Essence, Medicine, etc. that is beneficial to body and mind. It can also be applied to good and positive thoughts.

                                 "Amrit Hari ka naam hai" 

Remembering, chanting, and meditating upon God's name is Amrit.
