No one is too Tall

"No one is too tall to see tomorrow
And no one is too rich to buy yesterday.
So, be humble and appreciate life the way it is."

We spend much of our lives chasing tomorrow with lofty expectations, trying to reach what is beyond our reach
- or holding on to memories of the past; whether happy and joyful or sad and painful, we cling to them.
But neither tomorrow nor yesterday belongs to us.
Tomorrow is only a possibility, while the past is just a collection of bittersweet memories.

Remember, life does not always unfold the way we wish.
Sometimes it gives us joy; sometimes it brings challenges; sometimes abundance, sometimes uncertainty.
True wisdom lies in accepting things as they are and learning to value the present moment.
Humility is understanding that no position or high status, wealth, power, or achievement can grant us control over time.
No one can ever become mighty enough to foresee tomorrow and alter it; to dictate the future on their own terms.
Nor can we become wealthy enough to purchase back our yesterday.

So, let us be humble.
Be grateful for what we have
And use the present moment with wisdom and discernment.

From Death to Liberation

If life departs while desires remain, that is death, which is a part of the Kaal Chakra - the wheel of time, or the cycle of birth and rebirth.

But if desires vanish while life remains, that is Moksha - the true liberation.

Happy Senior Citizen Day

Today, we honor the wisdom, resilience, and love that our senior citizens bring into our lives.
They are the storytellers of our past, the keepers of our traditions, and the guiding lights for future generations. Through their years of life experience, they remind us of the enduring values of patience, kindness, perseverance, and compassion.

Our seniors have not only witnessed the changing world, but they have also helped shape it.
Their experiences teach us lessons that cannot be found in books, and their presence gives us a sense of strength, continuity, and belonging.
Let us respect, appreciate, and cherish our seniors.
They are the pillars of our families and communities ... The pillars of strength, wisdom, and inspiration.

Age is mind over matter
If you don't mind,
it doesn't matter

You cannot change the people

Today I found a profound and thought-provoking quote that said:

"You cannot change the people around you
But
You can change the people around you."

               Please read again and contemplate.

Prayer is a Bridge

It is said that 'Prayer is a bridge between Panic and Peace'.

Prayer is a silent bridge that carries the mind from the chaos of distress and anxiety to the calmness of peace.

Prayer does not necessarily change circumstances, but during times of distress, anxiety, and agitation, it can serve as a tranquil bridge that shifts the mind from the turmoil of panic to a state of peace.
                                 " Rajan Sachdeva "

Sumati Kumati sabkay ur maahin (Noble and evil thoughts dwell in everyone's heart)

Sumati Kumati sab kay ur rehahin
Naath Puran Nigam us kahahin॥
Jahaan Sumati tahaan Sampati naana
Jahan Kumati tahaan bipati nidaana॥
                      " Ram Charit Maanas"

Meaning:
O Lord! The Puranas and Vedas state that both 'Subuddhi' (wisdom, noble thoughts, and goodwill) and 'Kubuddhi' (foolishness, malice, hatred, and evil thoughts) reside in everyone's heart.
Generally, every person's mind constantly gives rise to a mix of goodwill and ill-will—good thoughts and bad thoughts. The difference lies merely in degree. Some people's minds are predominantly filled with goodwill and noble thoughts, whereas others harbor constant malice towards others.
Saint Tulsidas says that where 'Subuddhi' prevails, various forms of wealth, happiness, prosperity, and peace reside.
And where 'Kubuddhi' prevails, various calamities and sorrows dwell.
It implies that changing one's thoughts can transform one's life.
If the mind continually harbors noble thoughts and goodwill towards all, and stays free from envy and hatred, it will remain calm, and happiness and peace will endure in life.

Light does not argue with darkness

Light does not broadcast that it can illuminate the world,
Nor does it argue with the darkness.
It simply shines and illuminates everything around it.

Truth, wisdom, and goodness do not need to be loudly proclaimed.
True Saints do not seek recognition, validation, or victory in arguments.
They reveal themselves through their wisdom and actions and thus, earn their place in people's hearts.

The Answers we Seek

The answers we seek...
       ... Are hidden in the silence that we try to avoid.

And the miracle we want
           is inherent in the efforts we are trying to avoid.

Education is Admirable

Education is an admirable thing,
  But it is well to remember from time to time -
       That nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.

Kabeer garv na keejiye - Do not be proud

Kabeer garv na keejiye dehi dekh saurang
Aaj kaal taj jaahugay jyon kaachuri bhujang

Kabeer garv na keejiye ooncha dekh aavaas
Aaj kaal bhoyen letnaa oopar jaamay ghaas

Kabeer garv na keejiye kaal gahay kar kes
Na jaanay kit maariye kya ghar kya pardes

Kabeer garv na keejiye – rank na hasiye koy
Ajahoon naav samund mein, kya jaana kya hoy

Kabeer eh tan jaayega, sakahu ta lehu bahori
Naangay paanon tay gaye jin kay laakh karor

Kabeer bedaa jarjaraa phootay chhenk hazaar
Haruye haruye tar gaye doobay jin sir bhaar

          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
English translation:
1. Do not be proud of the beauty of your body.
Sooner or later, you will have to abandon it—
just as a snake sheds its worn-out skin.
2. Do not take pride in your lofty mansion.
One day, you will be buried in the ground,
And grass will grow above you.
3. Do not be arrogant—
One day, the Kaal (time or death) will seize you by the hair.
No one knows where death may strike— at home or in a foreign land.
4. Do not be proud, and do not mock the poor or the weak.
How can you claim to have reached the shore when your boat is still in the middle of the ocean?
Who knows what may happen before the journey ends?”
5. One day, this body will pass away
Do you think you can keep it and not let it go?
Try to hold it back if you can.
Even those who had lakhs of crores (millions) in their possession departed barefoot from this world.
6. The boat of life is worn and fragile, pierced with a thousand holes.
Those who kept themselves light and humble crossed over gently
And those who carried heavy burdens of longings and ego drowned.
                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The above great verses by Satguru Kabeer ji gently remind us of life’s impermanence and the futility of our pride and arrogance.

The right path is not always easy

" The right path is not always easy,
And the easy path may not always be right".
                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~
The path of truth is rarely comfortable.
It demands effort, time, and patience.
Truth does not promise comfort; it promises awakening and aligns us with what is real.
The path of comfort, on the other hand, is rarely true.
It may feel appealing, effortless, and pleasant at the moment, but it may turn us away from what is right—and what is necessary.
Dharma does not ask us to choose what is convenient, but what is right.
Easy and convenient concepts provide immediate relief to the mind and also nourish the ego.
However, the truth endures and offers lasting clarity.
It shapes character, deepens understanding, and leads us toward integrity and inner peace.
In the end, it's not about what is easy, but what is right.
ऊँची आवाज़ या मौन? Loud voice vs Silence
झूठे व्यक्ति की ऊँची आवाज सच्चे व्यक्ति को चुप करा सकती है
परन्तु सच्चे व्यक्ति का मौन झूठे लोगों की जड़ें हिला सकता है
The loud voice of a liar may silence a truthful person
But the silence of a truthful person can shake the very roots of falsehood.
पारस कै संग परस के कंचन भई तलवार
                 पारस कै संग परस के कंचन भई तलवार
                  तुलसी तीनों न मिटे - धार मार आकार
राम चरित मानस के रचयिता संत तुलसी दास इस दोहे के माध्यम से अध्यात्मिक जीवन के एक कटु सत्य की ओर हमारा ध्यान आकर्षित करते हैं l
वह कहते हैं कि जैसे एक लोहे की तलवार पारस पत्थर का स्पर्श करके सोना तो बन जाती है लेकिन उसका आकार और गुण वैसे का वैसा ही रहता है l
उसकी तीक्ष्णता और कार्यप्रणाली पहले जैसी ही रहती है।
बेशक उसमें चमक तो आ जाती है और उसकी कीमत भी कई गुना बढ़ जाती है। वह दर्शनीय और प्रशंसनीय भी बन जाती है लेकिन न तो उसका आकार बदलता है - और न ही उसकी पैनी तीखी धार। और न ही उसका मार काट करने वाला गुण ही बदलता है l
भले ही वो तलवार अब सोने में बदल चुकी है लेकिन फिर भी यह किसी को घायल करने में सक्षम है और अगर कोई उसे दबाने अथवा उसके रास्ते में आने या बाधा बनने की कोशिश करे तो उसे काट भी सकती है।
(प्राचीन काल की गाथाओं में पारस पत्थर का ज़िक्र मिलता है। केवल भारत में ही नहीं बल्कि पश्चिमी देशों में भी ऐसी मान्यता थी कि कोई भी धातु पारस पत्थर के सम्पर्क में आते ही या उसे छूते ही सोने में परिवर्तित हो जाती है। ग्रीक माईथोलोजी और अरबी साहित्य में भी पारस और अमृतजल अथवा आबे ज़मज़म इत्यादि का ज़िक्र मिलता है।)
इस दोहे में तुलसी दास जी इस मान्यता का उदाहरण देते हुए कहते हैं कि जिस तरह पारस का स्पर्श करके एक लोहे की तलवार सोने में तो परिवर्तिति हो जाती है लेकिन उस का गुण और कर्म नहीं बदलता।
उसी तरह ज्ञान प्राप्ति के बाद सत्संग एवं संतों के सानिध्य से जीवन में सुख तथा यश और मान तो मिलने लगते हैं लेकिन इन्सान का स्वभाव आम तौर पर नहीं बदलता l
जिनके स्वभाव में पहले से ही विनम्रता हो वो हमेशा विनम्र ही बने रहते हैं l
लेकिन जिनके ह्रदय में स्वभाविक रुप से ही अभिमान और दम्भ हो -
जिन के मन में स्वयं को दर्शाने तथा लीडर शिप की भावना और इच्छा होती है, वो अध्यात्मिक क्षेत्रों में भी स्वयं को दर्शाने - दूसरों से आगे रहने और सब पर नियंत्रण रखने का यत्न करते रहते हैं।
तो क्या इसका अर्थ ये हुआ कि इन्सान का स्वभाव कभी नहीं बदल सकता ?
दूसरे दोहे में संत तुलसी दास जी कहते हैं कि एक उपाय है जिस से स्वभाव को बदला जा सकता है l
               "ज्ञान हथौड़ा जे मिले, सतगुरु मिले सुनार
                 तुलसी तीनों मिट गए धार मार आकार "
तलवार की धार और आकार को हथौड़े से बार बार चोट करके बदला जा सकता है l
उसे स्वर्ण कलश, स्वर्ण आभूषण या स्वर्ण मूर्ति में रुपान्तरित करके उसके मार काट करने के गुण को भी बदला जा सकता है l
इसी तरह संतों के वचनों को बार बार सुनना और ज्ञान को बार बार अपने ह्रदय में दोहराना एक प्रकार से हथौड़े का काम करता है जिस से धीरे धीरे इंसान का गुण और स्वभाव बदलने लगता है।
लेकिन गुरु ज्ञान और संतों के वचनों की चोट कानों पर नहीं, ह्रदय पर पड़ेगी तभी स्वभाव बदलेगा .… अन्यथा नहीं।
Happy Buddha Purnima!
Lord Buddha said -
The mind is everything. What you think, you become.
If your mind is scattered, it will lead to your downfall.
But if your mind is focused, you will achieve everything.
There is no path to happiness. Happiness is the path.
The root of suffering is attachment.
We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.
When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let the light of Lord Buddha fill our hearts with peace and our minds with clarity.
May we find the path to inner peace and enlightenment
May we achieve wisdom and eternal peace on this auspicious day.

When there is Peace within

"The world around you is only beautiful -
 When you are at peace with the world within you."
                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The world feels more beautiful when there is peace within.
When our inner world is calm—free from constant longing, fear, or conflict—we begin to see everything around us differently.
The sky seems clear when the storm within has quieted.
When the mind is still, even silence feels like a song - the song of Anhad Naad.
It is not the world that changes.
This change does not come from the outside world.
It’s our perception that transforms — it is our awakened spirit that begins to see God in all things.
When the heart is aligned with Truth, the whole creation seems to be a part of the same fundamental Reality.
Harmony in the inner world creates harmony in the outer world, and everything seems beautiful.
Discussion vs Argument चर्चा बनाम बहस
Discussion - is an exchange of
   Thoughts & Knowledge
          Promote it.
Argument - is an exchange of
  Ego & Ignorance
          Avoid it.
Discussion may also include questions -
Because its purpose is to gain more knowledge and understanding.
In contrast, Arguments consist only of assertions—
Its goal is to establish superiority and affirm one's own correctness.
                                       ~~~~~~~~~

Ego vs Respect

                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When we feel that we have done something good, our ego grows.
Respect is earned when others feel that we have done something great.
सब कोइ पूजे पांव
                   आँख कान मुख नासिका ऊंचे ऊंचे थांव
                    'सहजो' नीचे कारणे सब कोइ पूजे पांव
                                         " सहजो बाई "
भक्त कवित्री सहजो बाई अपने गहरे आध्यात्मिक विचारों के लिए जानी जाती हैं।
इस दोहे के माध्यम से वो हमारा ध्यान इस ओर दिलाना चाहती हैं कि हमारे शरीर के ऊपरी अंग—आँख, कान, मुख, और नासिका— बेशक ऊँचाई पर स्थित होते हैं, लेकिन फिर भी पूजा इनकी नहीं बल्कि पैरों की होती है - पाँवों को ही अधिक पूजनीय समझा जाता है।
क्योंकि पाँव हमें धरती से जोड़ते हैं - धरती से जुड़े रह कर हमें संसार में यात्रा करने का आधार देते हैं। इसलिए जब कोई किसी का सम्मान करता है, तो वह उसके चरणों में सिर झुकाता है। किसी से कुछ लेने के लिए - कुछ सीखने या प्राप्त करने के लिए हम देने वाले के चरणों में झुकते हैं। शिक्षा देने वाले शिक्षक अथवा गुरु के चरणों में या उनसे कुछ नीचे बैठते हैं। यह विनम्रता और सेवा का प्रतीक है।
यहां सहजो बाई यह संदेश दे रही हैं कि विनम्रता और सेवा ही सच्ची महानता का मापदंड हैं। केवल ऊँचे स्थान पर स्थित होने मात्र से ही कोई पूजनीय नहीं हो जाता, बल्कि सच्ची श्रद्धा और सम्मान उन्हें मिलता है जो दूसरों के लिए उपयोगी होते हैं।
Sab koi Poojay Paanv --- Feet are Revered
         Aankh Kaan Moonh Naasika Unchay Uncay Thaanv
             'Sehjo' Neechay kaarnay  Sab koi Poojay Paanv
Sahjo Bai is known for her profound spiritual thoughts.
Through this couplet, she seeks to draw our attention to the fact that while the upper parts of our body—eyes, ears, mouth, and nose—are positioned at a height, it is not these that are worshipped, but rather the feet that are considered more revered.
Because the feet connect us to the earth—they keep us grounded and provide the foundation for our journey through the world. That is why one bows at someone’s feet as a gesture of respect. When we seek something—be it money, knowledge, or blessings—we lower ourselves towards the feet of the provider.
We sit lower - at the feet of our teachers or gurus as a mark of humility and learning. This symbolizes reverence, humility, and service.
Here, Sahjo Bai conveys that true greatness is measured by humility and service. Merely being placed in a higher position does not make one worthy of reverence; true respect and devotion are reserved for those who are of service to others.
The Biggest Gathering of Humanity on the Planet
A friend forwarded the following article to me with a request to post it on my blog.
The article offers a fair observation—neither political, provocative, nor negative toward anyone.
Therefore, I decided to post it as requested.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The article on Kumbh Mela
Written by Khalid Umar, a Pakistani journalist.

THE BIGGEST GATHERING OF HUMANITY ON THE PLANET EARTH IS THE LARGEST RELIGIOUS GATHERING OF HINDUS* ~~ Khalid Umar It’s pure joy and ecstasy. NO ANIMAL SACRIFICES, NO BLOODSHED,
NO UNIFORM, NO VIOLENCE, NO POLITICS,
NO CONVERSIONS, NO SECTS, NO SEGREGATION,
NO TRADE, NO BUSINESS. IT’S HINDUISM.

(In addition, there is absolutely no concern about caste or class—people from both upper and lower classes, as well as the so-called upper and lower castes, all take the holy bath together in the same water, side by side)*. Nowhere else HUMANS ever congregate(d) for a single event in such a number; be that religious, sports, war, funeral, or festivity. It’s always been the KUMBH mela and this year it’s Maha Kumbh, which is celebrated every 144 years. The world looks with awe at the statistics; 400 million people over 44 days, over 15 million taking the holy dip on the first day, a temporary city across 4,000 hectares, 150,000 tents, 3,000 kitchens, 145,000 restrooms, with 40,000 security personnel, 2,700 AI-enabled cameras, etc. These are mind-boggling statistics but that is not what makes me wonder. MY AWE IS NOT ABOUT MATERIALISM, STATISTICS, OR PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THIS EVENT.. It’s not about what our eyes can see. It’s not about size or numbers. What amazes me is (what we call ancient) knowledge of humanity’s connection with the universe. It amazes me that its rituals are performed with reference to the alignment, positioning, and timing of the celestial bodies in the heavens signifying human relationship with the Cosmos and its physical and spiritual effect on human destiny and future. It has no power structure or political polity driving it. It’s indigenous to the faith. It’s not about an organized religion. It’s not about a hierarchy. This Hindus Dharma’s understanding of the humanity’s relationship with the universe, from vegetation (under our feet) to the stars (in the milky way) is an evidence of the advanced knowledge in Hinduism which has extraterrestrial roots & connections. The meditating Sadhus’ consciousness is able to reach frontiers beyond space & time. It breaks the illusion of duality of me & the universe. BEYOND MATERIAL SCIENCE I think today’s space travel through rockets is a primitive technology. Our physical bodies are not us. We don’t need to physically travel anywhere as once we understand that we are souls having a physical experience, from localised particles, we become infinite, part of the whole, present everywhere, as entangled particles exhibit; distance and time barriers lose existence. When we become pure consciousness; part of the divine light; timeless and formless. It’s the awe when Sadhus of Himalayas and Quantum mechanics take a holy dip together in the vast ocean of knowledge. It’s not enough to say that Hinduism is aligned with nature. There is no duality; it’s nature itself. Being a Hindu is coming back to your natural state. Nature is Hindu !! 💐
~~ Khalid Umar

* "In addition, there is absolutely no concern about caste or class—people from both upper and lower classes, as well as the so-called upper and lower castes, all take the holy bath together in the same water, side by side."

Neither enmity nor friendship ... Vair Bhalaa na Preet

        Rahiman Ochhay Naran syon Vair Bhalaa na Preeet
        Kaatay Chaatay Swaan kay, Dou Bhaanti Vipreet

Neither enmity nor friendship is wise with mean-spirited people.
A dog may bite you in anger or lick your face in affection—
Both scenarios are undesirable and harmful.
                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rahim says it is neither wise to be enemies with mean-spirited people nor to befriend them.
He gives an example of a dog—
If the dog gets angry, it will bite your leg
And if it shows affection, it will lick your face.
Neither action is good for you.
In other words, both situations ultimately cause you harm.
Therefore, it is better to stay away from those with bad intentions.
Decision after deep analysis -- गहन विश्लेषण के बाद निर्णय
Wise people make their decisions after thorough analysis and deep thought
While the naive and ignorant start following the crowd without thinking
- without understanding the facts.
ज्ञानी और बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति हमेशा गहन विश्लेषण और गहरी सोच-विचार के बाद ही कोई निर्णय लेते हैं
लेकिन नादान और अनभिज्ञ लोग बिना सोचे-समझे और बिना तथ्य जाने ही किसी भीड़ का अनुसरण करने लगते हैं।
सब कुछ बदल जाता है उम्र के साथ Everything changes with age
सब कुछ बदल जाता है उम्र के साथ
            पहले कुछ पाने की कोशिश करते थे  -
                           अब सब्र करने की कोशिश करते हैं
Everything changes with age
          Earlier - we used to try to achieve something -
                                            Now - we try to let go and be patient
सत्य बनाम झूठ
विलासिता और झूठ को बनाए रखने में बहुत ज़्यादा खर्च आता है
            लेकिन
सत्य और सादगी को क़ायम रखने में कोई खर्च नहीं आता।
Truth vs Lies
Luxury and Lies have huge maintenance costs
              But
Truth and simplicity are self-maintained without any cost.
सुख का मंत्र Mantra to Remain Happy
                 सुखी रहने का मंत्र
         Mantra to remain Happy
If you are on the wrong train अगर आप गलत ट्रेन में चढ़ गए हैं
If you think you are on the wrong train,
              get off at the nearest station
The longer it takes you to get off  ---
             more expensive and longer the return trip will be.
अगर आप को लगे कि आप गलत ट्रेन में चढ़ गए हैं,
             तो जल्दी ही उतरने की कोशिश करें।
उतरने में जितनी देर लगाएंगे ---
            वापसी की यात्रा उतनी ही महंगी और लंबी हो जाएगी
If things could get done merely through words -
Today, there is no shortage of people who preach good words, good thoughts, and pure and selfless behavior...
But there is a need to apply them first to oneself!
Before telling others, apply it to yourself."
                                                 (Sadguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji)
बातों से बात बने - तो फिर बात ही क्या है
"बातों से बात बने - तो फिर बात ही क्या है।
आज अच्छे शब्द, अच्छे विचार और शुद्ध व्यवहार की नसीहत करने वालों की कोई कमी नहीँ है...
पर ज़रुरत है पहले उनको खुद पर लागू करने की !
सुनाने से पहिले खुद भी सुनने और मानने की ज़रुरत है। "
                                                (सद्गुरु बाबा हरदेव सिंह जी)
भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि - श्री रतन टाटा
                                भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि - श्री रतन टाटा
                        जो सिर्फ नाम से ही नहीं - कर्म से भी रत्न थे
                 एक अनुभवी उद्योगपति और जाने-माने परोपकारी व्यक्ति,
                         जिनका कल 87 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया।
                                         रतन टाटा के चंद शब्द
अगर आप तेज़ चलना चाहते हैं - तो अकेले चलें
लेकिन अगर आप दूर तक जाना चाहते हैं - तो सबके साथ मिल के चलें।
कितनी अजीब है बात है कि हम उच्च और मशहूर ब्रांड के कपड़े पहनना चाहते हैं -
लेकिन हम पायजामे में सबसे अधिक सहज महसूस करते हैं।
हम ताज और मैरियट जैसे होटलों में अमीर और कुलीन लोगों के साथ बैठना चाहते हैं -
लेकिन वास्तव में हमें दोस्तों के साथ सड़क के किनारे एक ढाबे पर चाय पीने में ज़्यादा आनंद मिलता है।
हम बड़ी बड़ी कारों के मालिक बनना चाहते हैं और लंबी ड्राइव पर जाना चाहते हैं -
लेकिन अपने दिल की बात हम केवल किसी प्रियजन के साथ एक गली में या सड़क पर चलते समय ही करते हैं।
                         इन  4 चीजों से कभी न शर्माएँ
पुराने कपड़े - क्योंकि आपके कपड़े आपकी प्रतिभा को परिभाषित नहीं करते।
गरीब दोस्त - क्योंकि दोस्ती में कोई हैसियत और स्टैट्स नहीं देखी जाती।
वृद्ध माता-पिता - क्योंकि आज आप जो कुछ भी हैं, वह उनके कारण ही तो हैं।
सादा जीवन - क्योंकि सफलता का अंदाजा आपकी जीवनशैली से नहीं लगाया जा सकता।
                                   ~~~~~~~~~~

Don't Be Shy at 4 Things -- "RATAN TATA

            A heartfelt tribute to Sh. Ratan Tata -
A Veteran Industrialist and Well-known Philanthropist, who passed away yesterday, at the age of 87.

                       Words of Ratan Tata

If you want to walk fast - walk alone,
But if you wish to walk far - walk together.

How strange is it that we wish to wear high brands -
but we feel most comfortable in pajamas.

We wish to sit in the Taj and Marriott with elite people -
but we enjoy roadside tea with friends.

We wish to own big cars and go on long drives -
yet we talk our hearts out only while walking down a long road with a loved one.

              DON'T BE SHY AT 4 THINGS:

Old Clothes - because your clothes do not define your talent.
Poor friends - because there is no status in friendship.
Old parents - because what you are today is because of them.
Simple living - because success can't be judged by your lifestyle.
                                 ~~~~~~~~~~
He did not just preach simplicity -
He lived a pious and simple life himself as well.
He was known for his simple lifestyle.
He was a Ratan (Gem) not just by name but also by deeds - who served the nation, people, and humanity with his skills and wealth.
May this Noble Soul rest in eternal peace.
Regardless of if you are a Hindu or from any other religion -
   9 Lessons to be learned from the main characters of MahaBharat
                      1. Kauravas
If you do not control the unreasonable demands of your children in time, you will become helpless in life...
                      2. Karn
No matter how powerful you are, if you support the unrighteous - your strength, weapons, skills, and blessings will all go to waste.
                      3. Ashwatthama
Not to make your children so ambitious that they may misuse their knowledge and cause total destruction.
                     4. Bhishma Pitamah
Never make such promises that you might have to surrender to the unrighteous...
                     5. Duryodhan
A Misuse of wealth, power, authority, and support to wrongdoers ultimately leads to complete destruction...
                    6. Dhritarashtra
Do not submit to a person - the one who is blinded by selfishness, wealth, pride, knowledge, attachment, or lust, because it will lead to destruction...
                   7. Arjun
If there is Gyana - wisdom with knowledge, you will definitely be victorious...
                  8. Shakuni
Deceit will not bring you success in all matters all the time...
                 9. Yudhishthira -
If you successfully maintain morality, Dharma, and duty, no power in the world can harm you...
Shastri lived a simple and minimalistic life. He and his family also joined the people of India in skipping a meal for weeks in response to the US's threat to cut supplies of wheat during the Indo-Pak war.
