       ये लकीरें भी अजीब हैं .......

हाथ पर हो तो  तक़दीर कहलाती है

ज़मीन पर हो तो सरहद बन जाती है 

चेहरे पर खिंच जाए  तो  ज़ख्म  -

और रिश्तों में पड़ जाए तो दीवार बन जाती है 

ट्रैन-ट्रैक सी सीधी हो - तो मंज़िल पे ले जाए 

टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी हों अगर - तो उलझन बन जाती है 

और अपनी लकीरें ख़ुद बनाओ - तो कोई बात बने 

लकीर का फ़क़ीर तो सारी दुनिया बन जाती है

      Ye Lakeeren bhee ajeeb hain ...... 

Haath par ho to taqdeer kehlaati hai

Zameen par ho to sarhad ban jaati hai

Chehray par khinch jaaye to zakhm -

Aur rishton mein pad jaaye to divaar ban jaati hai

Train-track see seedhi ho to manzil pay lay jaaye

Tedhee-medhee hon agar - to uljhan ban jaati hai 

Aur apni lakeeren khud banaao to koyi baat banay 

Lakeer ka faqeer to saari duniya ban jaati hai

           These Lines are strange - mysterious ...

On the hand - they are called luck

Become borders if drawn on the ground.

Scraped on the face, they create a wound -

And if drawn into relationships, they become walls.

If straight like the train track - they take you to the destination -

If crooked - then they become an annoyance

And if you draw your own lines - then it's a triumph 

Otherwise, the whole world follows the lines drawn by others anyway.
