A Guest House

It is said that this world is like a guest house.
At every single moment - many are departing, and many new arrivals are entering this world.

Now - if we think about it - the human mind is also like a guest house.
There is a departure and a new arrival at every moment.

Every moment, a feeling of joy or depression - kindness or wickedness - contentment or greed or other momentary feelings keep emerging as an unexpected visitor. While the old thoughts and emotions keep on exiting.
Though we can not stop them, we can certainly watch and keep a check on them.
Assumptions and judgments - even crowds of sorrow, may unexpectedly enter an inattentive mind and sweep away its peace and composure.

Therefore, it is crucial to watch our thoughts constantly and candidly - before they become a permanent - or a long-term resident in the house of our minds.
