Rules Or Devotion?

Some people - especially in this time and era - are overly concerned about the grammar and pronunciation of the words written in the Holy scriptures.
Undoubtedly, changing or missing some words - or pronouncing the words in such a way that may change the meaning of the verse is not good. However, understanding and contemplating the real meaning and essence of the message is more important than anything else.

Once, Adi Shnkracharya saw a priest scolding his disciples for the grammatical and pronunciational mistakes they made while reciting the holy Mantras.
Seeing this, Shankracharya said:

भज गोविन्दं भज गोविन्दं गोविन्दं भज मूढमते ।
सम्प्राप्ते सन्निहिते काले नहि नहि रक्षति डुकृङ्करणे ॥ १॥

Bhaj Govindam, Bhaj Govindam - Govindam bhaj moodhmatay
Sampraaptay Sannihitay kaalay nahi nahi Rakshti Dunkrunkarnay

Meaning:
"Oh, the ignorant one - Worship Govind, Praise Govind, Pray to Govind!
When the appointed time of death approaches - the rituals, rules, or grammar will not be able to save you."

It's the devotion - love, and feelings that count - not the rules, grammar, or pronunciation of the words.
Even if they say something wrong, the Omniscient - All-knowing God knows what is in the hearts and minds of the devotees.
