A rare manifestation of Bhagwan Sri Krishna at Harihareshwar temple
with a single face, two hands but five bodies in different positions.!!
Incredibly, when we look at each body, we feel that the face is of that particular body.
A 3-D optical illusion created in11th century?
It seems that it may be a symbol of Kam, Karodh, Lob, Moh, and Ahamkar - all five in one head - one mind.
But his eyes are looking above - towards the higher consciousness - above all the vikaars. A state of mind of a Gyani.
The numeral five has been a significant number within ancient Indian thought.
Perhaps it may represent the five koshas' or bodies that the One Head (Universal God-head/Consciousness) assumes.
This One head (Consciousness) has the five bodies or coverings of the Annamaya Kosha (physical body), Pranayama Kosha(energy body), Manomaya kosha (Mind), Vijnanamaya kosha (discernment sheath), and the Anandamaya kosha (bliss body).
It may also represent the One Head/Consciousness assuming the five bodies/forms consisting of the five Tattvaa (elements) - namely Eath, Fire, Air, Water, and space.
But whatever the interpretation, this architecture is indeed pointing to a Higher truth.
