It's Christmas.
It's the Holiday season.
In this western part of the world where we live - almost everyone decorates their living room with an ornamented Christmas tree and long strings of lights outside the house.
The shopping malls, roads, and streets in residential areas display magnificent, spectacular views during the Holiday season. Some houses are decorated so gorgeously and splendidly that they catch everyone's eyes and become a point of attraction and admiration. They are a delight to look at and often make us wonder how much money and time they must have spent to do all that magnificent work.
Nevertheless, it's a beautiful scene all around.
But what about the light of consciousness - waiting to be lit inside our hearts and minds?
Do we ever think about that?
Lighting thousands of lights in and outside our houses will not make any difference in our life - unless we illuminate our minds with awakened consciousness.
The Guru has given us the torch - the light of Gyana, and we must keep it lit all the time.
It's our responsibility to see everything clearly in the light of Gyana.
Christmas is not just about exchanging and opening gift packs - It's about opening our hearts.
So, today, while opening our gift packs, let's think about opening our hearts and minds.
Let's illuminate - not only our houses but our minds as well - by getting rid of all kinds of false beliefs and narrowmindedness in our minds.
We must choose our path wisely and responsibly - with awakened consciousness. So that we all continue to prosper in physical and spiritual realms together.
May all be Happy and free from illness and misery.
May no one Suffer.
May all live with tolerance and acceptance of others' beliefs and lifestyles.
May there be love and harmony everywhere.
Remember: Auspicious wishes given with a pure heart are also the best gifts for any season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.
Let's illuminate our lives - inside and outside.
