Tribute - Mata Heeraben Modi
(Received from a friend in India)
As soon as the news of the death of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother was received -
we thought - today, her body would be kept somewhere for the Antim Darshan - last glimpses in a royal style.
And then - as it happens at the death of the family members of politicians and heads of the states - a majestic procession will be carried out.
Then - She will be cremated in a royal manner - and the funeral program will become political.
But when I switched on the television -
I saw that Modi ji and his brother - along with other family members had already reached the crematorium - carrying the mother's dead body in a very ordinary way.
Such normality is not seen even in the families of middle-class people. It is unbelievable to see the picture that such a prominent leader of the world is carrying his mother's body in an ordinary way - on a bier of bamboo and grass.
Such simplicity... never seen in the past and probably will never be seen again.
Millions of salutations to the mother who gave birth to such a wonderful personality.
Humble tribute.
Morning - at 6 AM
There is news that the mother is no more.
The funeral procession begins at 9 a.m.
And by 9.38 in the morning the funeral process is over.

Note:
I have no connection nor inclination towards any political party.
But when someone (anyone) does some decent and commendable work, we should respect them - admire and praise their actions.
Such actions of humility and simplicity are undoubtedly noteworthy and highly commendable.

Applaudable works of all in general & celebrities in particular need to applauded & commended. Hirabaa, NaMo's mother lived a life of Seclusion and as Hermit. Her last rites deserve similar kind of farewell as it's befitting her stature.
ReplyDeleteI am no fan of Narendra Modi but was emotionally very moved by the simplicity of whole thing, Prime Minister of biggest democracy carrying body of his mother to cremation ground. Not sure if it’s real or political stunt but reminded me of few lines by Mahakavi Tulsi Das:
ReplyDelete“जननीजने तो भक्तजन कै दाता कै सूर, नहीं तो जननी बांझ रहै व्यर्थ गवावहिं नूर“
Narendra Garg
Thank you, Dr. Garg. It's not a question of being a fan or not. I believe if someone does something good and commendable - we should appreciate it - regardless of if we like the person otherwise or not.
DeleteI think what he did is remarkable - and set a precedent for others.
Being in power, he could have easily used the public funds to make this funeral a big show - as most other influential people and leaders do. But he did not - which should count for something.
The lines you mentioned by Sant Tulasi das are wonderful. Thanks again.
You are absolutely right 🙏🏽
