Share your Thoughts and Perspectives

We should not be shy about sharing our thoughts and perspectives with others.
If we think we are right and our views and perspectives can help others, then we should pass them on.
Present your point of view - but be open to listening to theirs as well.
The people who have the power to make the decisions will decide what they want to do - but at least it is good to let them see your point of view.

Usually, we do not want to share our thoughts because we are afraid of other people's reactions.
We are afraid that others may not like them.
Many people are good-hearted by nature. They may see certain things that they do not like.
But they stay silent because they do not want to criticize or offend anyone.
Some are afraid that they might annoy their superiors or some other influential people, and they might lose their position and respect.
Sometimes we face situations where we are in a dilemma - a predicament - to choose between principles and loyalty.
While opportunists will choose loyalty, good people will always stick to principles.

The famous story from Mahabharat -
Draupadi was being stripped - disrobed in the open court.
Many great, learned, and wise people - such as Bhishma Pitamah, and Dronacharya were sitting in the court.
They knew it was wrong, but they said nothing.
They chose to be silent because they chose loyalty toward the king over principles.

Silence is usually considered like approval - being in agreement with the situation.
Duryodhan was encouraged by their silence.
They did not disapprove or condemn his action.
So everyone thought that these great people were also in agreement - that what Duryodhan was doing was not wrong.

We might think that by staying silent - we can keep ourselves away - from being involved in any conflict.
But silence is as much an active form of communication as speaking.
If there is a problem and we do nothing, people may think the issue is as much our fault as the others who caused the problem.

As per the famous quote:
“The world suffers - Not because of the bad people
But because of the silence of the good people.”

  1. Very well put. It is not being argumentative but trying to place yourself in your thinking in the right direction that is important. If the ones who know right from wrong don’t say it at the right moment the time passes. And you become party to the wrong. 🙏
