Empty applause will be of no use to a poet.

Singing the songs of love and affection to the living ones would be beneficial and appreciated. 

Singing Qawwalis on someone's grave will do no good to anyone.

किसी की क़ब्र पर क़व्वालियों से कुछ नहीं होगा

न हों पैसे तो इस्तक़बालियों से कुछ नहीं होगा *

किसी शायर का ख़ाली तालियों से कुछ नहीं होगा

* सिर्फ़ स्वागत करने - तालियां बजाने और हार पहना देने से तो कुछ नहीं होगा अगर किसी वक्ता एवं शायर को पैसे एवं पारितोषिक इत्यादि न दिया जाए। 

शुगर-कोटिड     =  Sugar-coated 

छालियों             =  मकई के भुट्टे - मक्की की छलियाँ 

ज़िन्दों को          =  ज़िंदा - जीवित लोगों को 

नग़्मा-ए-उल्फ़त  = प्यार, मोहब्बत, श्रद्धा के गीत 

घाटी और शिखर

जब घाटी से देखते थे - तो बहुत सुंदर लगता था शिखर। 

जब शिखर के पास पहुँच कर देखा तो लगा कि घाटी इस से ज़्यादा सुंदर है। 

अक़्सर - दूर से देखने पर जो सुंदर और उत्तम एवं उत्कृष्ट दिखाई देता है - पास आने पर उसका जादू - उसका आकर्षण समाप्त सा होने लगता है। 

ऐसा महसूस होने लगता है कि उसकी सुंदरता एवं उत्कृष्टता केवल हमारे मन का भ्रम था।  

इसीलिए हमारे बड़े-बूढ़े बुज़ुर्ग और विद्वान लोग अक़्सर ये कहा करते थे कि बड़े लोगों से थोड़ी दूरी बना कर रखनी चाहिए। 

ख़ास तौर पर ऐसे लोग जिन्हें हम अपने हीरो और अनुकरणीय मानते हैं - उनके बहुत क़रीब होने की कोशिश नहीं करनी चाहिए। 

कहीं ऐसा न हो कि हमारे मन से वो आकर्षण - वो आस्था समाप्त होने लगे और अंततः हम उनके शुभ विचारों और शिक्षाओं से भी दूर हो जाएं।

Valley vs Peak

When seen from the valley, the peak looked very beautiful and mesmerizing.

However, after coming closer to the peak, the valley seemed more beautiful than the peak. 

Often, what appears beautiful and perfect when seen from a distance - begins to lose its magic and charm when we come closer. 

We begin to realize that its beauty and excellence were merely an illusion of our mind.

That is why our elders and scholars often used to say that we should always maintain some distance from eminent and illustrious people. Especially those - whom we consider our heroes and role models. We should not try to get too close to them. Because slowly, their appeal and trust may start to fade away from our minds. And ultimately, we may even move away from their excellent ideologies and invaluable teachings.

सही मित्र और साथी

ग़लत व्यक्तियों का चयन हमारे जीवन को प्रभावित करे या न करे,

लेकिन सही व्यक्तियों की उपेक्षा करने पर हमें जीवन भर पछताना पड़ सकता है। 

इसलिए, जब जीवन में कोई सही मित्र या साथी मिल जाएं तो उनकी क़दर करें - 

उनका मूल्य समझें और यथायोग्य आदर करें। 

छोटी छोटी बातों के लिए मन में रोष रख कर दूरी न बनाएं।

               टूटे ते फिर जुड़े नहीं - जुड़े गांठ पड़ जाए "

अर्थात: अगर एक बार प्रेम का धागा टूट जाए तो फिर जुड़ता नहीं है। 

और अगर जोड़ भी लें तो उसमें हमेशा के लिए गाँठ तो पड़ी ही रहती है। 

एक बार कहीं दरार पड़ जाए तो उसे भरना मुश्किल हो जाता है।

इसलिए हर रिश्ते, हर संबन्ध की क़दर करें - उन्हें संभाल कर रखें 

और छोटी छोटी बातों के लिए मनमुटाव पैदा न करें । 

कहीं ऐसा न हो कि वो सदा के लिए दूर हो जाएं।

शांति स्थापित करने की कोई ज़रुरत नहीं

नदियों को साफ़ करने की ज़रुरत नहीं है

बस - उन्हें गंदा न करें - 

उनमे गंदगी डालना बंद कर दें
तो वह स्वयं ही साफ़ रहेंगी

जंगल उगाने की ज़रुरत नहीं
बस उन्हें काटना बंद कर दें
तो जंगल स्वयंमेव ही हरे भरे रहेंगे

शांति स्थापित करने की कोई ज़रुरत नहीं
बस - अगर अशांति फैलाना बंद कर दें
तो हर तरफ शांति ही रहेगी

इसी तरह मन को साफ़ करने की भी ज़रुरत नहीं है
बस, मन में नकारात्मक विचारों को न आने दें -
दुर्भावना पूर्ण विचारों को मन में स्थान न दें
किसी के प्रति नफरत और शत्रुता का भाव न रखें
तो मन हमेशा साफ़ और पवित्र ही रहेगा

हम जितना नकारात्मक विचारों और नकारात्मक लोगों से दूर रहेंगे  -

हमारा जीवन उतना ही शांतिपूर्ण होगा।

The color of Henna is not visible

The color- the redness is hidden in the leaves of henna.

But we don't see it.

It's not visible to us.

However, when soaked and applied on the hands properly, its redness becomes visible on the hand.

And then it doesn't fade away for a long time.

Similarly, the omnipresent God is also not visible to us - 

because He is formless - beyond form, color, and shape. 

It can not be seen with the physical eyes.

Only through the Gyan - the correct knowledge and proper practice and Sumiran, meditation, and loving devotion can it appear in the heart. 

And once it appears - occupies the heart & mind, its color - its mark does not fade away.

The exquisite color - the beauty of the Lord is everywhere around us.

Wherever I look - He is there.

When I wanted to explore its color - its beauty and magnificence - 

I too got immersed in its color - and became one with Him.

मेंहदी की लालिमा दिखाई नहीं देती

मेंहदी के पत्ते में लाली - लालिमा छुपी होती है 

मगर हमें दिखाई नहीं देती। 

लेकिन जब उसे भिगो कर सही ढंग से हाथ पर लगाया जाए तो उसकी लालिमा प्रकट हो कर स्पष्ट रुप से हाथ पर दिखाई देने लगती है। 

और फिर जल्दी उतरती भी नहीं है। 

इसी तरह सर्व व्यापक ईश्वर - परमात्मा भी हमें दिखाई नहीं देता - 

क्योंकि वह निराकार है - रुप रंग आकार से परे है। 

वह भौतिक आँखों से नज़र नहीं आ सकता। बाहरी आँख से दिखाई नहीं दे सकता। 

केवल सही ज्ञान - उचित अभ्यास और सुमिरन एवं प्रेमा भक्ति के माध्यम से ही हृदय में प्रकट हो सकता है - 

और जिसको उसकी लाली चढ़ जाए तो फिर जल्दी उतरती नहीं है। 

एक बार जब वह हृदय में प्रकट हो जाए - दिल और दिमाग पर छा जाए - तो उसका रंग - उसका प्रेम और  प्रभाव कभी फीका नहीं पड़ता।

महा शिवरात्रि और अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस

अधिकांश प्राचीन सभ्यताओं और संस्कृतियों में पुरुष को सर्वोच्च माना जाता था। 

और नारी को पुरुष के मुकाबिले में कमज़ोर और पुरुषों के अधीन माना जाता था।

आधुनिक समय में कई महिला सशक्तिकरण या 'नारी-शक्ति' आंदोलन उभरे हैं जिन्हों ने पूरी दुनिया में काफी लोकप्रियता हासिल की है। 

'अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस' जैसे कई उत्सव भी आजकल बहुत लोकप्रिय हो रहे हैं।

लेकिन कुछ मज़हब और संस्कृतियाँ ऐसी हैं जो अभी भी ये मानती हैं कि पुरुष महिलाओं से बेहतर और ऊंचे होते हैं।

दूसरी ओर - कुछ लोग ये दावा करते हैं कि महिलाएं पुरुषों से कहीं ऊंची - मानसिक और शारीरिक रुप से पुरुषों की तुलना में अधिक मजबूत और सहनशील होती हैं।

सत्य तो यह है कि उपरोक्त कोई भी दृष्टिकोण व्यावहारिक नहीं है।

पुरुषों और महिलाओं को प्रतिस्पर्धी नहीं - बल्कि एक-दूसरे के पूरक माना जाना चाहिए। 

प्राचीन हिंदू अथवा भारतीय संस्कृतियाँ हमेशा से ही पुरुष और महिला को समान दर्जा देती रही हैं।

नारी को देवी माना जाता था और उन्हें पूरा सम्मान और आदर दिया जाता था। 

भारत में प्राचीन काल से ही दुर्गा, सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी, सीता और पार्वती जैसी देवियों की पूजा की जाती रही है। 

आज भी हिंदू महिलाओं को दिए जाने वाले सबसे अधिक लोकप्रिय और अग्रणीय मंझले नाम 'देवी और रानी' जैसे सम्मानसूचक शब्द ही हैं।

प्राचीन भारतीय ग्रंथों के अनुसार:

     "यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते, रमन्ते तत्र देवताः"

                          (मनु स्मृति)

अर्थात: जहां स्त्रियों का आदर और सम्मान होता है, वहां देवता निवास करते हैं।

 वेदों ने लैंगिक समानता के बारे में एक बहुत ही सुंदर और महत्वपूर्ण बात कही है:

           "न शिव शक्ति रहितो - न शक्ति शिव वर्जिता

            उभयोरस्ति तादात्मयं वन्हि दाहकयोरिवा''

इस श्लोक में शिव और शक्ति को पुरुष और नारी शक्तियों या ऊर्जा के रुप में देखा गया है।

यहां कहा गया है कि न तो शिव शक्ति के बिना हैं और न ही शक्ति शिव के बिना है।

उभयो - अर्थात दोनों - एक ही हैं - एक दूसरे के पूरक हैं। 

जैसे अग्नि और ज्वाला अलग-अलग नहीं हैं - अग्नि और दहन-शक्ति को विभाजित करके एक को उच्च और दुसरे को निम्न नहीं माना जा सकता। 

वे दोनों एक ही हैं।

इसी प्रकार शिव और शक्ति को भी विभक्त अथवा पृथक करके उन्हें ऊँचा-नीचा नहीं माना जा सकता। 

वे एक ही हैं और एक-दूसरे के पूरक हैं।

               "मात-पिता बिन बाल न होई" (गुरबानी)

अर्थात बाल यानी संतान को पैदा करने और पालने के लिए माता और पिता - दोनों की आवश्यकता होती है।

प्रकृति ने संसार की निरंतरता के लिए दोनों को समान रुप से बनाया है। 

दोनों की ही परिवार और समाज में योगदान देने के लिए अपनी-अपनी भूमिकाएं होती  हैं। अपने अपने कर्तव्य और दायित्व होते हैं। 

इसलिए, नारी और पुरुष - दोनों को समान रुप से सम्मान दिया जाना चाहिए 

किसी एक को दूसरे से ऊँचा या नीचा मानने की बजाए दोनों को बराबर का आदर सत्कार दिया जाना चाहिए। 

क्योंकि यदि दोनों में से एक भी न रहा - तो संसार समाप्त हो जाएगा।

           महा शिवरात्रि और अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस की शुभकामनाएँ

Maha Shivratri and Women's Day

Most ancient civilizations and cultures favored the supremacy of men - and regarded the female gender as weaker and subordinate to men.

In modern times, many Women's Empowerment or 'Nari-Shakti' movements have emerged and gained immense popularity all over the world. Many festivals, such as 'International Women's Day' are also becoming quite popular nowadays.

Yet, there are some religions and cultures that still believe that men are higher and superior than women.
And then - some people claim that women are superior to men - 

mentally and physically stronger and more enduring than men.

However, neither of the above approach is practical.
Men and women should not be seen as competitors.
They are rather complimentary to each other.

Ancient Hindu or Indian cultures have always given equal status to men and women.
Women were considered Devis - Goddesses. They were honored and given utmost respect. 

Devis such as Durga, Sarasvati, Laxmi, Seeta, and Parvati have been worshipped in India since ancient times.

Even today, the most popular and leading middle names given to Hindu women are Devi (Goddess) and Rani (Queen).

According to ancient Indian Scriptures:
         "Yatra Naaryastu Pujyantay, Ramantay Tatra Devtah"
                                                                            (Manu Smriti)
Meaning: where women are honored and respected, the Gods reside there.

The Vedas said it beautifully and the best about Gender Equality :
                    "Na Shiva Shakti Rahito - Na Shakti Shiv Varjitaa
                      Ubhayorasti Taadaatmayam Vanhi Daahakayorivaa"*
Shiva and Shakti are seen as male and female forces or energies in this Shloka.
It says that neither Shiv is without Shakti - nor Shakti is without Shiva.
Ubhayo - meaning both - are the same and supplemental to each other.
Just like fire and flame are not different - Fire and burning power can not be split and considered higher and lower. 

They are one and the same.
Similarly, Shiv and Shakti - Male and Female - can not be split - isolated and considered higher or lower than the other. 
They are the same and complementary to each other.

                    "Maat-Pitaa bin Baal na hoyi" (Gurbani)
Meaning: Mother and father - both are needed for the birth and upbringing of a child.

Nature has created both equally for the continuation of the world.
They both play their own essential parts to contribute to the family and society.
Both have their own roles - their own duties and responsibilities.
Therefore, both should be equally respected and appreciated - without placing one above the other.
Instead of considering one as higher or lower than the other, both should be given equal respect. 

The world will disintegrate if either one is eliminated.

फ़ोन का बिल

एक सज्जन शाम को घर आये तो देखा कि उनकी टेबल पर इस महीने का फ़ोन का बिल पड़ा था। 

उठा कर देखा तो बहुत हैरान हुए। 

इस महीने का बिल पिछले महीनों के बिल से बहुत अधिक था। 

ये जानने के लिए कि इतना ज़्यादा बिल क्यों आया, उन्होंने घर के सब लोगों को बुलाया।

पिता: यह तो हद हो गई। इतना ज़्यादा बिल? 

मैं तो घर का फ़ोन इस्तेमाल ही नहीं करता - सारी बातें ऑफ़िस के फ़ोन से करता हूँ।

माँ:  मैं भी हमेशा अपने ऑफ़िस का ही फ़ोन इस्तेमाल करती हूँ। 

सहेलियों के साथ इतनी सारी बातें घर के फ़ोन से करुँगी तो कैसे चलेगा?

बेटा:  पिता जी - आपको तो पता ही है कि मैं सुबह सात बजे घर से ऑफ़िस के लिए निकल जाता हूँ। 

मुझे जिस से बात करनी होती है - ऑफ़िस के फ़ोन से ही करता हूँ।

बेटी: मेरी कम्पनी ने मेरी डेस्क पर भी फ़ोन दिया हुआ है - मैं तो सारी कॉल्स उसी से करती हूँ। 

"फिर ये घर के फ़ोन का बिल इतना ज़्यादा कैसे आया ? पिता ने पूछा। 

घर की नौकरानी चुपचाप खड़ी सब की बातें सुन रही थी। 

सबकी प्रश्न भरी निगाहें अब उसी की ओर उठ गयीं ....

"क्या तुम हमारे घर का फ़ोन इस्तेमाल करती हो? 

उसने कहा - जी 

पिता जी की तेवर चढ़ गईं 

"हमारे फ़ोन से तुम्हें अपनी पर्सनल कॉलें करने का कोई हक़ नहीं है" 

वो बोली: “आप सब भी तो जहां पर काम करते है, वहीं  का फ़ोन इस्तेमाल करते हैं 

         मैंने भी वही किया तो क्या ग़लत किया ?”

              जो हम स्वयं करते हैं, वो हमें बुरा नहीं लगता 

              लेकिन वही काम कोई और करे तो...... ?

बहुत बार - ये जानते हुए भी कि हम जो कर रहे हैं वो ठीक नहीं है - 

फिर भी हम अक़्सर वो काम करते रहते हैं।  

लेकिन वही काम अगर कोई और करे तो हमारी प्रतिक्रिया बदल जाती है।  

दूसरों के प्रति कुछ ग़लत करते हुए हम स्वयं को दोषी महसूस नहीं करते। 

अपनी त्रुटियाँ एवं कमज़ोरियां या तो हमें दिखाई ही नहीं देतीं 

और अगर दिखाई दें भी - तो हम उन्हें मामूली सी बात कह कर टाल देते हैं।  

लेकिन जो व्यवहार हम दूसरो के साथ करते हैं अगर वही व्यवहार कोई हमारे साथ करे 

तो हम उन पर भेदभाव का आरोप लगा कर और स्वयं को प्रताड़ित बता कर उनकी आलोचना एवं शिकायत करने लगते हैं। 

ज़रा सोचिए - 

यदि हम दूसरों के प्रति अपने व्यवहार के लिए अपने आप को दोषी महसूस नहीं करते तो अगर अन्य लोग भी हमारे साथ कुछ वैसा ही व्यवहार करते हैं तो हमें स्वयं को पीड़ित और प्रताड़ित सिद्ध करने का क्या अधिकार है ?

The Phone Bill

Johnny came home from work in the evening and saw the telephone bill lying on his table. 

He was astonished to see the amount on the bill. 

It was significantly higher than ever before. 

He called his wife and children to find out why the bill was so high,

This amount is too much. How could it be so high? 

As for myself, I never use the home phone. 

I always use the office phone - there is no need for me to use the home phone." He said.

His wife said: "I too use only the work phone. 

I can’t afford to use the home phone to talk with all my friends for hours."

Son: "Well. You know I leave for work at seven in the morning and come home late. 

Since I work long hours, I always talk to people from my office phone."

The daughter said her company had given her a phone on her desk. 

She does not need to use the home phone.

"Then why is the phone bill so high? Johnny asked.

The housemaid was listening to their conversation intently and silently.

"Do you use our house phone?"

She said: yes, sir.

"You have no right to make personal calls from our phone.

She said:  Well! All of you use the phone at your respective places of work... 

Why is it wrong if I do the same?

We usually don't feel bad when we do something in a certain way -

But if someone else does the same?

Many times, despite knowing that what we are doing may not be right – we still keep doing it.

But if someone else does the same thing, our reaction changes. 

We react differently when others act the same way.

We do not feel guilty when we do something wrong towards others.

Our faults and weaknesses are usually invisible to us. 

And even if we see them, we ignore them by calling them insignificant trivial matters.

But if someone else treats us the same way we treat them, we start playing as victims 

We start criticizing and complaining by accusing them of discrimination and calling ourselves victimized and oppressed.

If we don't feel guilty about our own misdeeds towards others, 

then why should we feel victimized if others treat us the same way?

Snoring

Faults, Anger, Greed, Ego, Stubbornness, Arrogance, 

Criticism, Condemnation, Insult, etc. are like Snoring.

We don't even realize it when we do it

But when someone else does it, it bothers us.

It upsets and irritates us.

We even get angry at them.

But we feel bad only when others do it - not us. 

Everything seems fine when we do it ourselves.

ख़ुर्राटे

ग़लती, गुस्सा, लालच, हठ, अभिमान, 

निंदा और अपमान इत्यादि ख़ुर्राटों की तरह होते हैं। 

ख़ुद करें तो पता भी नहीं चलता 

मगर कोई और करे तो बहुत बुरा लगता है। 

हम परेशान हो जाते हैं - उन पर क्रोध आने लगता है। 

 

लेकिन ये तभी होता है जब कोई दूसरा करे -

स्वयं करें तो सब ठीक लगता है।

Vaqt abhee to bahut padaa hai
Veham yahi ik sab say badaa hai

       The Biggest Illusion

There is still a lot of time left
This illusion is the biggest of all

We don't know when the call may come?
Yet, our mind is rooted in the world.

You will reap whatever you sow.
This law of nature is stern and uncompromising.

All the deeds - good or bad
Files of those accounts are kept with Him.

Nothing can be kept hidden from Him.
He - who is always with everyone - watching everything.

Even after bearing the knowledge of the Absolute Brahm
Why is the mind still stuck in illusions?

After attaining the essence of the 'Self - O' Rajan'
Why are you still holding on to the hem of the body?

सब से बड़ा वहम

वक़्त अभी तो बहुत पड़ा है 

वहम यही इक सब से बड़ा है 

जाने कब आ जाए बुलावा 

ध्यान मगर दुनिया में जड़ा है 

जो बीजोगे वो ही मिलेगा 

क़ुदरत का ये नियम कड़ा है 

चंगे मंदे सब कर्मों का 

ख़ाता उसके पास पड़ा है 

उस से कुछ भी छुप न सकेगा 

वो - जो सब के साथ खड़ा है 

ब्रह्म का ज्ञान हुआ पर फिर भी 

क्यों वहमों में मन जकड़ा है 

आत्म तत्व को पाकर 'राजन '  

तन का दामन क्यों पकड़ा है

दिल मिले या न मिले - हाथ मिलाते रहिए

बात कम कीजे - ज़ेहानत को छुपाते रहिए 

ये अजनबी शहर है कुछ दोस्त बनाते रहिए 

दुश्मनी लाख सही - ख़त्म न कीजे रिश्ता 

दिल मिले या न मिले - हाथ मिलाते रहिए

ज़ेहानत       =  सोच, विचार, भावनाएं  

कम बोलिये -- अपने विचारों को छुपाए रखिए - अर्थात अपने तक ही सीमित रखिए 

विचित्र है ये संसार - इसलिए सब से दोस्ती बना कर रखने में ही फायदा है। 

अगर आप किसी के प्रति उदासीनता या किसी कारणवश अपने मन में उनके लिए कुछ दुश्मनी भी महसूस करें तो भी उनसे रिश्ता ख़त्म न करें।

भले ही आपके दिल एक दूसरे से मिलें या न मिलें -

भले ही अब आपको उनके प्रति कोई प्रेम और स्नेह महसूस न हो -

लेकिन फिर भी उनसे हाथ तो मिलाते ही रहिए। 

अर्थात उन्हें अपने जीवन से पूरी तरह और हमेशा के लिए अलग न कीजिए। 

संत तुलसीदास जी ने भी कुछ ऐसा ही कहा था : --

        "तुलसी इस संसार में सब से मिलियो धाए 

         न जाने किस भेस में नारायण मिल जाए "

Haath Milaatay Rahiye - Keep a Handshake at least

Baat kam keejay zahaanat ko chhupaatay rahiye
Ye ajnabi shehar hai kuchh dost banaatay rahiye
Dushmani laakh sahi - khatm na keejay rishtaa
Dil milay ya na milay - haath milaatay rahiye

Zahaanat   = Intelligence, Thoughts, Ideas, What's in mind 

Talk less - keep your thoughts to yourself - hidden.

This is an unknown vicinity - so keep making some friends here. 

It is a strange world - it is beneficial to remain friends with everyone.

Even if you feel indifference toward someone

or some enmity for them for some reason,

do not end the relationship with them.

Whether your hearts meet each other or not -

Even if you do not feel affection for them anymore - 

But still - keep shaking hands with them, at least.

Do not push them out of your life completely and forever.

Saint Tulsidas ji had also said something similar: -

          " Tulasi is Sansar me sab say miliyo dhaaye

             Na jaanay kis bhes me Naraayan mil jaaye"

Nothing in life is Permanent 

Nothing in life is Guaranteed 

Nothing in life is Promised 

There is no such promise that everyone will get everything in life.

Therefore-Accept life as it is and try to make the best of it 

and enjoy it.

Agar Dariya me Halchal ho -If there is turbulence in the sea

         Agar dariya me halchal ho to kashti bach bhi sakti hai 

         Magar kashti me halchal ho to kashti doob jaati hai 

Halchal   = Turbulence, Turmoil, Disturbance, Disorder, Disruption 

                                English Translation

If there is a storm - if there is turbulence in the river or sea, the chances are that the boat might survive.

But if there is turbulence in the boat itself - then it may not reach the shore. 

It may drown.

                    Interpretation:

The turbulence and turmoils of the world may not cause to disturb the Gyanis. 

They can still continue their spiritual journey without getting affected by them - they can still attain their destination.

But if the worldly turmoil and frenzies enter and stay in the mind of a Gyani - 

then it would be hard to achieve the goal of Liberation.

अगर दरिया में हलचल हो

      अगर दरिया में हलचल हो तो कश्ती बच भी सकती है 

      मगर कश्ती में हलचल हो  तो  कश्ती डूब  जाती  है 

शब्दार्थ :

यदि समुद्र में तूफान आ जाए तो संभावना है कि नाव बच सकती है। 

लेकिन अगर नाव में ही तूफान आ जाए - 

अगर नाव के अंदर बहुत हलचल और उथल पुथल होने लगे तो उसका किनारे तक पहुंचना कठिन हो जाएगा।

भावार्थ - व्याख्या : 

ज्ञानी लोग यदि संसार में रहें तो इसमें कोई कठिनाई अथवा नुकसान नहीं है। 

वे दुनिया की अशांति और उथल-पुथल से प्रभावित हुए बिना अपनी आध्यात्मिक यात्रा जारी रख सकते हैं  

और अपनी मंजिल को प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।

लेकिन अगर संसार की दुविधाएं  - दुनिया की उथल-पुथल ज्ञानी के मन में  प्रवेश कर जाती हैं - 

और मन में बनी रहती हैं तो पार उतरना मुश्किल हो सकता है 

तब मोक्ष के लक्ष्य को हासिल करना कठिन हो जाएगा ।
