Happy Teacher's Day & Brilliant Humor of Dr. Radhakrishnan

Today, 'Teacher's Day' is being celebrated all over India in memory of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan - India's first Vice-President and then the President of India.

In 1962, when Radhakrishnan was serving as the President of India, his birthday was proposed to be celebrated as 'Radhakrishnan Day'. 

However, he declined, saying: "Instead of celebrating it as my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if this day is observed as Teachers' Day."

Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan (September 5, 1888- April 17, 1975) was a great philosopher and teacher. His contributions to education and Indian philosophy are exemplary. He was one of the greatest scholars of Indian and Western philosophies in recent times. He wrote several volumes on Indian philosophies and Vedanta, including commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and the Brahma Sutras.

Besides being a great Teacher and  Philosopher, Dr. Radhakrishnan was also an exceptionally "witty man"!!

While searching the web about him, I found some brilliant, humorous answers he gave.

When the King of Greece came to India on a State visit  

President Radhakrishnan welcomed him at the Palam Airport.

"Your Majesty... you are the first King of Greece to come to India 'on invitation '!!!!

The last time, Alexander the Great came uninvited."

Winston Churchill, while having a cup of tea, said to Dr. Radhakrishnan: 

Sugar is the only English word where "s" is pronounced as "sh"!!

Dr. Radhakrishnan jested: "Are you sure?"

Once Winston Churchill hosted a State Banquet in honor of Dr. Radhakrishnan.

Dr. Radhakrishnan washed his hands before eating and used his hands to eat the food, while Churchill used Spoons and Forks..!!

Churchill could not stop himself from advising Dr. Radhakrishnan to use a spoon and fork, saying that they were more hygienic.

 Dr. Radhakrishnan replied..

Since nobody can use my hand to eat, my hand is more hygienic than any Spoon or Fork you use."

On one of his travels abroad, a member of the audience asked Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan a question.

"  What's the difference between a Station Master and a School Master?"

The question was irrelevant and bordering on impertinent, too!

However, the brilliant Dr. Radhakrishnan replied calmly...

" While a Station Master minds the Train, a School Master trains the mind!!"

Teachers have a direct impact on their students. 

They strive to educate and inspire students to learn more and to bring positive change to their lives. 

They help build the characteristics of an individual, a society, and a nation.

The teacher is a candle that burns itself and gives light to others.

From the first day of school to the end of our academic education, we all learn from many different teachers.

However, only a few stay in our memory for the rest of our lives.

An awe-inspiring teacher is hard to find, difficult to part with, and impossible to forget. 

The influence of a good teacher can never be erased. Because they take personal interest and responsibility for our progress.

They take students' hands, open their minds, and touch their hearts.

Such heartfelt teachers become role models for the students. 

That is why, in ancient Indian traditions, the teacher, or Guru, was given the utmost respect and highest honor by society. 

Guru was considered like God.

In fact, in the Sanatan Ancient Indian culture, Mother, Father, and the Guru - all three were given the status of God.

                  "Matri Devo Bhavah - Pitri Devo Bhavah - Gurur Devo Bhavah"

The great Gurus - the good teachers do not simply teach. 

They plant the seeds of knowledge in the minds of their disciples and students that last a lifetime. They engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn.

They guide and support disciples personally at every step, helping them understand and thoroughly grasp the subject, and inspiring them to improve and rise to heights where the sky is the limit.

Find a great teacher, a Guru, who will help you personally - by guiding you at each step of your life on a personal level - answering all your questions and removing any doubts that you might have.

A proficient and experienced teacher will never tell you to stop asking questions, to stay quiet, or to be withdrawn and believe every word without any doubt whatsoever.

Good teachers will always encourage you to ask questions until you are fully satisfied.

Because the teachers who are indeed wise do not simply teach what they know - they lead you to the threshold of your own mind.

Great Gurus and Good teachers encourage their students to become as knowledgeable as they are - or even better than they are. 

Real Gurus or Good teachers never become jealous of their students.

In fact, they feel proud of their students if they rise and become even better than the teachers.

There is a beautiful prayer in the Yajur Veda - also found in the Taittiriya, Mandukya, and Shvetashvatara Upanishads - which explains the beautiful relationship between the Guru and the Shishya - the teacher and the disciple.

It says:

              ॐ सह नाववतु - सह नौ भुनक्तु - सह वीर्यं करवावहै

                         तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषावहै

                             

          Om Seh Nau-Avatu Seh Nau Bhunaktu Seh Veeryam Karavaavahai

                       Tejasvi Naav-Adhiitam-Astu Maa Vidvishaavahai

                                                (Yajur Veda)

Meaning: May the Brahman (Almighty Lord) protect us both (Teacher & Disciple);

May He nourish us both;

May we both work in harmony with great vigor;

May our study be illuminating and fruitful;

May we - Guru and Shishya - the teacher and disciple - never be jealous of each other.

The greatest tribute to our Gurus and teachers is to learn, understand, and apply their teachings in our lives. 

I was fortunate to have a few such great teachers in my life - who helped me in every sphere of my life - to broaden my horizons - to remove the walls of narrow-mindedness - to get out of the limited, confined space and become open and broad-minded and think universally. 

My salutations and gratitude to all my teachers - all my Gurus - who helped me personally to reach where I am - to be what I am today.

Let's appreciate the vital role that teachers play in shaping our future.

गुरुओं एवं शिक्षकों का अपने छात्रों और अनुयायियों पर सीधा और गहरा प्रभाव पड़ता है।

वे हमेशा अपने शिष्यों को शिक्षित करने और उनके जीवन में सकारात्मक बदलाव लाने के लिए प्रेरित करने की कोशिश करते हैं। 

वे किसी भी व्यक्ति, समाज और राष्ट्र के चरित्र को बनाने में मदद करते हैं। शिक्षक एक ऐसा दीपक है जो स्वयं जलकर दूसरों को प्रकाशित करता है।

स्कूल के पहले दिन से लेकर हमारी पढ़ाई पूरी होने तक, हम कई शिक्षकों से पढ़ते और सीखते हैं। 

लेकिन उनमें से कुछ ही ऐसे होते हैं जो हमें जीवन भर याद रहते हैं। बहुतों के तो नाम तक भी याद नहीं रहते। लेकिन एक प्रभावशाली एवं प्रेरणादायक शिक्षक को भूलना असंभव होता है। 

एक अच्छे शिक्षक अथवा गुरु का प्रभाव कभी मिटाया नहीं जा सकता। क्योंकि वे हमारी योग्यताओं को बेहतर बनाने में व्यक्तिगत रुप से रुचि लेते हैं । वे शिष्यों एवं अनुयायिओं का हाथ थाम कर उन्हें आगे बढ़ने में सहायता करते हैं - उनके दिल और दिमाग के दरवाजे खोलते हैं और उनके हृदय को छूते हैं। 

ऐसे गुरु और  शिक्षक छात्रों के लिए रोल मॉडल बन जाते हैं। 

इसीलिए, प्राचीन भारतीय परंपराओं में, शिक्षक या गुरु को समाज में सबसे अधिक सम्मान और सर्वोच्च स्थान दिया जाता था। गुरु को भगवान के समान माना जाता था। 

                 "गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः

                 गुरुः साक्षात् परब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः"

बल्कि प्राचीन भारतीय सनातन संस्कृति में तो माता, पिता और गुरु - तीनों को भगवान का दर्जा दिया जाता था। 

                   "मातृ देवो भव - पितृ देवो भव - गुरु देवो भव"

महान गुरु एवं अच्छे शिक्षक केवल पढ़ाते ही नहीं हैं। वे अपने शिष्यों और छात्रों के मन में ज्ञान के ऐसे बीज बोते हैं जो जीवन भर प्रफुल्लित होते रहते हैं। 

वे हर कदम पर अपने शिष्यों का, अनुयाइयों का व्यक्तिगत रुप से मार्गदर्शन करते हैं, उन्हें प्रोत्साहित करके संबंधित विषय को समझने और अच्छी तरह से आत्मसात करने में मदद करते हैं, और उन्हें बेहतर बनने और ऐसी ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं जिनकी कोई सीमा नहीं है। 

एक ऐसे महान शिक्षक, एक ऐसे गुरु को खोजें, जो व्यक्तिगत स्तर पर आपकी मदद करे जो जीवन के हर कदम पर आपका मार्गदर्शन करे - आपके सभी सवालों के जवाब दे और किसी भी संदेह अथवा दुविधा को दूर करने का प्रयास करे। एक कुशल और अनुभवी शिक्षक कभी भी आपको सवाल पूछने से नहीं रोकेगा, न ही चुप रहने और उसकी हर बात को बिना किसी संदेह अथवा प्रश्न किए ज्यों का त्यों मान लेने के लिए कहेगा। अच्छे शिक्षक तो हमेशा आपको तब तक सवाल पूछने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेंगे जब तक आप पूरी तरह संतुष्ट न हो जाएं। भगवद गीता और उपनिषद इस बात का साक्ष्य हैं। 

क्योंकि जो शिक्षक वास्तव में ज्ञानी होते हैं, वे सिर्फ़ वही नहीं सिखाते जो वे जानते हैं - बल्कि वे आपको आपके अपने मस्तिष्क और अचेतन मन की गहराई तक ले जाते हैं।

महान गुरु और अच्छे शिक्षक तो अपने छात्रों को अपने से भी अधिक योग्य बनने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करते हैं। 

           अच्छे शिक्षक कभी भी अपने शिष्यों से ईर्ष्या नहीं करते। 

यदि उनके शिष्य तरक्की करते हैं और उन से भी बेहतर बन जाते हैं तो उन्हें अपने शिष्यों से ईर्ष्या नहीं बल्कि उन पर गर्व होता है। 

यजुर्वेद में एक सुंदर प्रार्थना है जो गुरु और शिष्य के बीच एक सुंदर और मधुर संबंध दर्शाती है। यह मंत्र तैत्तिरीय, मांडूक्य और श्वेताश्वतर उपनिषदों में भी मिलता है - 

इसमें कहा गया है:

           ॐ सह नाववतु - सह नौ भुनक्तु - सह वीर्यं करवावहै

                      तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषावहै

अर्थात हे सर्वशक्तिमान ईश्वर हम दोनों (शिक्षक और शिष्य) की रक्षा करें 

हम दोनों का पालन-पोषण करें - हम दोनों साथ मिलकर पूरे उत्साह और ऊर्जा के साथ कार्य करें  

हमारा ज्ञान बढ़े और फलदायी हो; हम दोनों गुरु और शिष्य  कभी भी एक-दूसरे से ईर्ष्या न करें।

हमारे गुरुओं और शिक्षकों के लिए सबसे बड़ी श्रद्धांजलि यही है कि हम उनकी शिक्षाओं को सीखें, समझें, आत्मसात करें और अपने जीवन में अपनाएं।

मैं स्वयं को भाग्यशाली समझता हूँ कि मुझे अपने जीवन में ऐसे कई महान शिक्षक एवं गुरुजन मिले - जिन्होंने मेरे जीवन के हर क्षेत्र में मेरी सहायता की - मेरी सोच का दायरा बढ़ाया - संकीर्णता की दीवारों को हटाया - सीमित दायरे से बाहर निकलकर खुले और व्यापक विचार अपनाने और सार्वभौमिक रुप से सोचने की प्रेरणा दी। 

उन सभी शिक्षकों एवं गुरुओं को मेरा नमन और आभार, जिन्होंने मुझे व्यक्तिगत रुप से उस मुकाम तक पहुँचने में मदद की जहाँ मैं आज हूँ । 

आइए, हम अपने भविष्य को संवारने में शिक्षकों की अहम भूमिका का आदर करें और उन्हें यथायोग्य सम्मान दें।

Happy Janmashtami - Celebrating the Jagat Guru Krishna Beyond the Rituals

Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, who is regarded not only as an incarnation of the Divine but also as Jagat Guru - the Teacher of the World. 

For millions of people, Krishna is a beloved deity.

The Bhagavad Gita, spoken by Lord Krishna to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, is one of the world's most influential spiritual texts that influenced and shaped later 'religions' and Dharmas of India, including Buddhism, Sikhism, and their numerous branches.

It is not merely a religious scripture; it is a profound exploration of Dharma, Karma, Gyan (knowledge), devotion, duty, detachment, and the nature of the Self. Lord Krishna's message is remarkably relevant even today. 

He teaches that we cannot always control life's circumstances, but we can control how we respond. 

That we must perform our responsibilities sincerely, without becoming enslaved by the desire for a specific result. 

We must learn to rise above fear, attachment, ego, and selfishness and discover the deeper truth within ourselves. 

Millions of people around the world acknowledge and honor this day in many different ways - with prayers, devotional songs, fasting, celebrations, and religious ceremonies. But beyond the stories of his life, his childhood, his relationships, and his divine manifestations lies something even more profound: his teachings. 

The greatest celebration and tribute to Lord Krishna would be to do more than remember his birth. It would be to learn, understand, and apply his teachings in our own lives. 

The true celebration of the Gurus or great teachers is not merely to worship them, but to walk the path they showed us.

Duryodhana chose the Narayani Sena (Lord Krishna's army) while Arjuna chose the unarmed Krishna.

One chose the means, and the other chose the Lord.

शुभ जन्माष्टमी: भगवान कृष्ण और भगवद गीता

जन्माष्टमी भगवान कृष्ण के जन्मदिन के रुप में मनाई जाती है, जिन्हें न केवल ईश्वर का अवतार बल्कि 'जगद्गुरु' भी माना जाता है।

लाखों लोगों के लिए कृष्ण एक प्रिय आराध्य देवता हैं। 

कुरुक्षेत्र के युद्ध के मैदान में भगवान कृष्ण द्वारा भगवद गीता के रुप में दिया गया अर्जुन को उपदेश - पूरी दुनिया में एक अत्यंत प्रभावशाली आध्यात्मिक ग्रन्थ माना जाता  है। जिसने भारत के सभी धर्मों और पंथों - जिनमें बौद्ध धर्म, सिख धर्म और उनकी कई शाखाएं शामिल हैं - को प्रभावित किया और उन्हें आकार दिया। 

भगवद गीता केवल एक धार्मिक ग्रंथ नहीं है; यह धर्म, कर्म, ज्ञान, भक्ति, कर्तव्य, अनासक्ति और आत्मा के स्वरुप की गहरी खोज से सम्बन्धित दर्शन शास्त्र एवं महाग्रंथ है और जिस का संदेश आज के समय में भी बहुत प्रासंगिक है।

भगवद गीता सिखाती है कि हम हमेशा अपने जीवन की और आसपास की परिस्थितियों को नियंत्रित नहीं कर सकते, लेकिन हम उन पर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया को नियंत्रित कर सकते हैं। 

और हमें किसी विशेष परिणाम की इच्छा के गुलाम बने बिना अपनी जिम्मेदारियों को ईमानदारी से निभाना चाहिए। 

भगवद गीता सिखाती है कि हमें भय, अनुचित मोह, अहंकार और स्वार्थ से ऊपर उठ कर  अपने भीतर के गहरे सत्य की खोज करनी चाहिए।

दुनिया भर में करोड़ों लोग जन्माष्टमी के पर्व को अलग-अलग तरीकों से मनाते और सम्मानित करते हैं - प्रार्थनाओं, भक्ति गीतों, उपवास, उत्सवों और धार्मिक समारोहों के माध्यम से। लेकिन उनके जीवन चरित्र, बचपन के खेल, रिश्तों और उनके दिव्य रूपों की कथा कहानियों से परे है: उनकी गहन शिक्षाएं। 

भगवान कृष्ण को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए केवल उनके जन्म को याद करने से कहीं बढ़कर आवश्यक है उनकी शिक्षाओं को सीखना, समझना और उन्हें अपने जीवन में अपनाना।

गुरुओं, अवतारों एवं महान शिक्षकों की सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि केवल उनकी पूजा करना नहीं है, बल्कि उनके दिखाए रास्ते पर चलना है।

Our seniors have not only witnessed the changing world, but they have also helped shape it.

Guru Poornima - Thanks and Gratitude to all my Gurus

On the Auspicious Occasion of Guru Purnima, I extend my heartfelt greetings and Best wishes to our respected Parents, all Teachers & Mentors.  

Guru Purnima is an Indian & Nepali spiritual tradition dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers. Those who are evolved or enlightened humans - and ready to share their wisdom, with very little or no monetary expectation.

It is believed that a person is blind without a teacher to guide him. 

Mother and father are a child's first teachers. 

But after that, the Guru becomes his or her second mother or father.

The Shastras proclaim that a human being is born twice - known as Dvija. 

First, by the union of the father and mother - and second, when he is accepted by a bona fide Guru. 

The Guru acts as a father and delivers him the knowledge - with the help of mother Gayatri - a personified symbol of the holy scriptures (the personification of the knowledge & wisdom).
In other words, Guru is considered the father, and the Holy Scriptures and literature are considered the mother. 

Guru teaches with the help of, or according to, the Scriptures.

The festival of Guru Poornima is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the month of Ashadh (July-August) in the Hindu calendar of India and Nepal.
The full moon symbolizes perfection.
Guru-Poornima is a symbolic reminder of the belief that Guru is Poorna - perfect.
We cannot learn much from someone if we have doubts about their knowledge in the subject we want to acquire.
In order to learn, we need to have faith in the Guru - the teacher.
Therefore, we always try to find a Guru who has perfect knowledge of the required subject. Once our curiosity about the Guru’s Gyan or knowledge is satisfied, we must have faith in his teachings.

One of the most popular beliefs about the meaning of Guru Poornima is - 

That Guru Poornima is not just a symbol of gratitude of the disciple towards the Guru - it is also a reaffirmation of the belief that the Guru is Poorna.

While contemplating this belief, a thought occurred to me.

A teacher asked his young student:
“Johnny. How old is your father”?
“Six years,” Johnny said.
“How is that possible?” the teacher asked.
“Duh..... Because he became a father when I was born.”

A person is not a father until he has a child.

He becomes a father only when his child is born.
Similarly, doesn’t a Guru become a perfect Guru when his disciples achieve perfection?

Therefore, the gratitude towards the Guru is not just singing the Guru’s praises and offering thanks and gifts.

The student or disciple must strive to understand the Guru's teachings and imbibe them.

Just as parents become happy and proud of their children’s achievements, the Gurus also feel happy and proud when they see their disciples achieving heights and perfection. 

Seeing the children prosper, parents feel a sense of achievement that their love and sacrifice have paid off ... that they have fulfilled their role as parents. 

Similarly, seeing the disciples become perfect and attain the same heights, the Guru may feel that he has fulfilled his role as Guru. 

Therefore, sincere and genuine gratitude towards the Guru would be when we start working seriously towards achieving perfection in ourselves to make the Guru feel happy, content, and fulfilled. 

May the Lord bless us all to achieve that Poornima.

शुभ गुरु पूर्णिमा - सब गुरुओं को सादर समर्पित

     उन सब गुरुओं को सादर समर्पित -

जिन्हों ने मुझे सब कुछ सिखाया - तराशा और संवारा 

गुरु पूर्णिमा एक भारतीय और नेपाली आध्यात्मिक परंपरा है - जो आध्यात्मिक और शैक्षणिक गुरुओं के प्रति समर्पित है।

ऐसे गुरुओं के प्रति - जो स्वयं विकसित एवं प्रबुद्ध हैं और अपने ज्ञान को बिना किसी स्वार्थ के बाँटने के लिए तैयार हैं।

ऐसा माना जाता है कि गुरु के मार्गदर्शन के बिना व्यक्ति अंधा होता है।

बच्चे के पहले गुरु होते हैं उसके माता और पिता।

फिर गुरु भी माता या पिता का ही रुप बन जाते हैं।

शास्त्रों में कहा गया है कि मनुष्य दो बार जन्म लेता है - जिसे द्विज के नाम से जाना जाता है।

पहला जन्म पिता और माता के मिलन से - और दूसरा - जब वह एक अच्छे और पूर्ण गुरु द्वारा स्वीकार कर लिया जाता है।

गुरु एक पिता के रुप में माँ गायत्री - अर्थात शास्त्रों की मदद से ज्ञान प्रदान करता है

अर्थात शास्त्रों में वर्णित ज्ञान के अनुसार विस्तार से समझाता है ।

गायत्री का अर्थ है शास्त्र एवं शास्त्रोचित ज्ञान।

दूसरे शब्दों में गुरु को पिता और शास्त्रों एवं साहित्य को माता माना गया है -

क्योंकि गुरु - शास्त्रों और प्रामाणिक पुस्तकों की सहायता से ही पढ़ाते हैं।

गुरु पूर्णिमा का त्योहार भारत और नेपाल के हिंदू कैलेंडर के अनुसार आषाढ़ (जुलाई-अगस्त) के महीने में पूर्णिमा के दिन मनाया जाता है।

जैसे पूर्णिमा का चाँद पूर्णता का प्रतीक है। वैसे ही गुरु-पूर्णिमा इस विश्वास का प्रतीक है कि गुरु पूर्ण है।

यदि हमें गुरु पर विश्वास ही न हो - तो हम उन से कुछ भी नहीं सीख सकते।

कुछ भी सीखने के लिए हमें अपने गुरु - अपने शिक्षक पर विश्वास होना चाहिए।

अगर हमें वांछित विषय में उनके ज्ञान के बारे में संदेह है तो हम उन से कुछ भी प्राप्त नहीं कर पाएंगे ।

इसलिए , हम हमेशा एक ऐसे गुरु को खोजने का प्रयास करते हैं, जिसे उस विषय में पूर्ण ज्ञान हो।

और जब गुरु के ज्ञान और उनके अनुभव के बारे में हमारी जिज्ञासा शांत हो जाती है, तो हमें स्वयंमेव ही उनकी शिक्षाओं पर भी विश्वास होने लगता है।

गुरु-पूर्णिमा केवल गुरु के प्रति शिष्य की कृतज्ञता का ही प्रतीक नहीं है -

बल्कि इस विश्वास की भी पुष्टि है कि पूर्णिमा के चाँद की तरह ही गुरु भी पूर्ण है।

कुछ भी सीखने अथवा प्राप्त करने के लिए गुरु के प्रति पूर्ण विशवास का होना अनिवार्य है। 

लेकिन यहां एक सवाल भी उठता है - कि क्या बिना शिष्यों के कोई गुरु पूर्ण हो सकता है?

एक स्कूल में एक शिक्षक ने एक बच्चे से पूछा:

तुम्हारी उम्र क्या है ?

बच्चे ने कहा - छह साल" ।

"और तुम्हारे पापा कितने साल के हैं?"

"वह भी छह साल के हैं ।"

"ये कैसे संभव है?" शिक्षक ने पूछा।

बच्चे ने कहा - "क्योंकि मेरे जन्म के बाद ही तो वो पिता बने थे "

कोई व्यक्ति तब तक पिता नहीं होता जब तक कि उसकी कोई संतान न हों।

वह पिता तो तभी बनता है जब उसकी संतान जन्म लेती है।

इसी तरह, एक गुरु भी तभी पूर्ण गुरु बनता है जब उसके शिष्य भी पूर्णता को प्राप्त करते हैं।

गुरु कोई डिग्री, योग्यता या शिक्षक या प्रोफेसर जैसी कोई सीट, कोई पद या कोई नौकरी नहीं है।

गुरु किसी व्यक्ति के प्रति एक श्रृद्धा का भाव है - 

जो न केवल आवश्यक विषय पढ़ाता है - बल्कि व्यक्तिगत रुप से शिष्य को उनके जीवन के हर कदम पर मार्गदर्शन करता है और उन्हें पूर्णता तक पहुंचने में मदद करता है।

इसलिए, गुरु के प्रति कृतज्ञता का अर्थ केवल गुरु की स्तुति गाना और धन्यवाद और उपहार इत्यादि देना ही नहीं है।

शिष्य को गुरु की शिक्षाओं को सही ढंग से समझने का प्रयास करके - उन्हें आत्मसात करना चाहिए, और अपने जीवन में पूर्णता प्राप्त करने का प्रयास करना चाहिए।

जिस प्रकार माता-पिता अपने बच्चों की उपलब्धियों पर प्रसन्न और गौरवान्वित होते हैं - उसी तरह गुरु भी अपने शिष्यों को ऊंचाइयों और पूर्णता को प्राप्त करते हुए देखकर संतुष्ट और गौरवान्वित महसूस करते हैं।

लेकिन जो अपने शिष्यों से ईर्ष्या करता हो - जो नहीं चाहता कि उसके शिष्य विकसित हों और पूर्णता तक पहुँचें - ऐसे गुरु को एक पूर्ण गुरु नहीं माना जा सकता।

बच्चों को समृद्ध होते देख कर माता-पिता को अपने आप में एक उपलब्धि का अहसास होता है कि उन का प्यार और बलिदान काम आया है -

कि उन्होंने माता-पिता के रुप में अपनी भूमिका पूरी की है - अपना कर्तव्य ठीक से निभाया है।

इसी प्रकार शिष्यों को सिद्ध होते हुए और अपने समान ऊँचाइयों को प्राप्त करते हुए देखकर, गुरु को भी लगता है कि उन्होंने गुरु के रुप में अपनी भूमिका पूरी तरह निभाई है। उनका सिखाना और समझाना-बुझाना काम आया है।

इसलिए गुरु के प्रति हमारी सच्ची कृतज्ञता तब होगी जब हम स्वयं भी पूर्णता प्राप्त करने की दिशा में -

और सही मायने में गुरु को प्रसन्न एवं संतुष्ट करने के लिए गंभीरता से कोशिश करना शुरु कर देंगे।

आइए - उस पूर्णिमा को प्राप्त करने के लिए हम सभी प्रभु से प्रार्थना करें और आशीर्वाद की कामना करें।
