To see from such a perspective

The art of expression, or poetry's true artistry and brilliance, lies in its ability to convey a message or idea in such a way
That an entire thought can be understood even in an unfinished phrase.

May God grant me the vision to see from such a perspective
Where the true state of your inner self is clearly revealed.

The Art of Aging Without Nagging

  The Art of Aging Without Nagging

When wrinkles bloom and joints protest
Don’t teach the world - just give it rest.
Even if you're right (and you often are)
Unsolicited wisdom leaves a scar.

Help only when someone pleads,
Don’t plant advice like stubborn weeds.
Don’t bubble-wrap your kin from pain
Just love them deep, and not explain.

No moaning 'bout your knees or pills,
Or neighbors, Netas, unpaid bills.
Don’t turn bitter, don’t be loud
Grumpy elders aren’t allowed!

Don’t expect your kids to bow,
They love you - just not like wow.
Gratitude’s not their daily bread
It’s us who dream it in our head.

Avoid the dreaded elder speech:
"In my time…" or "I did each…"
"I’m older, hence I know it all!"
That’s not wisdom - it’s just gall.

Don’t waste your cash on youth’s disguise,
On creams or potions full of lies.
Better to travel, dance, and roam
Than Botox your way back to home.

Stay with the times, don’t lag behind,
Learn new tech, expand your mind.
Read the news, decode the apps
Don’t be the one who always naps.

Do what you love, while you still can,
Be your own fan, your biggest stan.
No guilt-trips down memory lane
You did your best, now don’t complain.

Hold your pride, your grace, your name,
Don’t play the martyr’s aging game.
Keep giving love, your finest art
That’s the secret to a youthful heart.

If you must leave, then leave

Tum nay jaana hai to chalay jao, magar yaad rahay
Lautnay walon kay phir wo hi rutbay nahin rehtay

Those who return never quite command the same stature and prestige again.

Rait pay ghar banaa lena Aqalmandi nahin (Building a home on sand is not wise)

Rait par hee ghar banaa lena aqalmandi nahin
Ishq mein khud ko mitaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Doosron ko aasmanon par chadhaanay kay liye
Hasraten apni mitaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Sair beshaq keejiye is duniya kay baazar ki
Dil magar is say lagaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Aaj hi doori banaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Chaar din ki zindagi mein khaamkha hi dosto
Har kisi ki bad-dua lena aqalmandi nahin

Aur ik udtaa parinda bhi pakadnay kay liye
Haath mein jo hai gavaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Maazi ko to hum badal saktay nahin hargiz magar
Mustaqbil ko bhi gavaa lena aqalmandi nahin

Baantnay say Gyan 'Rajan' kam nahin hotaa kabhi
Ilm ko paakar chhupaa lena aqalmandi nahin
             " Rajan Sachdeva "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
             English translation:
Building a home on sand is not wise.
Losing one's own self entirely in love is not wise.
To elevate others to the skies
Extinguishing one's own desires completely is not wise.
By all means, wander through the marketplace of this world,
But letting your heart become attached to it is not wise.
One day, we must leave everything behind and depart,
But creating distance while we are still here is not wise.
In this transient, fleeting life, O my friends,
Incurring the ill-will of others is not wise.
To catch another bird that is in flight,
Losing what is already in your hand is not wise.
(To make new friends, acquaintances, supporters, or followers,
Losing the ones we already have is not wise)
Certainly we cannot change the past, but
Squandering the future as well is not wise.
Sharing knowledge never diminishes it, 'O Rajan
Concealing the wisdom one has gained is not wise.
कहानी बन के रह जाएंगे One day, we will be just a story
कुल मिला कर देखूं गर, तो ज़िंदगानी अच्छी थी
रास्ते समतल न थे, फिर भी रवानी अच्छी थी
इक दिन 'राजन' भी कहानी बन के रह जाएगा, पर
लोग सुन के ये कहें  कि ' ये कहानी अच्छी थी '
Looking back, all in all, life was good
Though all paths were not smooth, yet the journey flowed well.
One day, 'Rajan' too will become nothing but a story,
However, when people hear it, they should say, "It was a good story."
Believe in yourself
In the good old days, I wrote this poem for my son at the time of his graduation.
I hope you like it.
Dr. Prem Khilnani
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Believe in yourself.

Whenever the sun recedes
The darkness invades.
The world becomes invisible.
And it seems you are left alone.
Then dive within.
Behold, your path is well lit.
The eternal light is within you.

Whenever friendships fade
And relatives evade
And assistance abate.
Blame not your fate.
Look at your own hands.
Reinvigorate yourself.
The power is within you.

Whenever dreams collapse, and plans tumble
Pessimism and negativity prevail.
Seems all is lost.
Take a brush and repaint the rainbow.
You are the person - you have the character.
The creativity is within you.

When projections are bleak
And opinions are dismal.
Doubts and cynicism resound.
You still have the faith
You can move the mountain.
The divinity is within you.

So live your life up to the brim
Create your own destiny.
Reach your potential.
Know yourself.
Master yourself.
To be yourself
Believe in yourself

When conflicts multiply (Jab dvand badhnay lagay)

                          Roman Script

Jeevan mein jab dvand badhnay lagay
Hriday jab duhkhon say bikharnay lagay
To lena Prabhu ka sahaara 'Priye
Dar Us ka khula hai khula hee rahega
Tumharay liye - Sabhi kay liye

Jeevan nirarthak jo lagnay lagay
Bhar jaye man mein ik gehari niraasha
Phailaa ho chaaron taraf hee andhera
Na aaye nazar dhundhali see bhee aasha
Paon agar ladkhadaanay lagen
Chhaaya say bhee ghabaraanay lagen
To lena Prabhu ka sahaara 'Priye
Vo karuna ka saagar kripa hee karega
Tumharay liye -
Sabhi kay liye

Jo hai Anaadi - Anant vahi hai
Jis nay banaaya ye brahmaand saara
Vahee hai Rachayita Vahee karta-dharta
Vahee ek hai sab ka paalanhaara
Karo us ka chintan - chintaa ko chhodo
Sumiran mein 'Rajan' man apnaa jodo
Rakhnaa jala kay shraddha kay diye
Dayaalu hai Vo to daya hee karega
Tumharay liye - Sabhi kay liye
               " Rajan Sachdeva "

                    English translation:

When conflicts multiply in life
When the heart begins to shatter with sorrow
Then take refuge in the Lord, my dear,
Seek refuge in the Eternal, my dear—
His door is open and will always remain open
For you - for everyone.

When life seems meaningless,
When the heart is filled with deep despair
When darkness surrounds you on all sides
And not even a glimmer of hope is visible
When steps begin to tremble
And you fear even your own shadow—
Then take refuge in the Eternal Lord, my dear,
He is an ocean of compassion. He will surely show mercy
For you - for everyone.

That which is beginningless is also endless
(the True Reality)
Who created this entire universe
He is the creator, the sustainer,
He alone is the provider of all.
Meditate on Him - leave your worries behind,
O 'Rajan'- Connect your mind to Him in Sumiran,
And keep the lamps of faith burning
He is merciful. He will surely show mercy
For you - for everyone.
                            " Rajan Sachdeva "

               Devnagri Script

Ab Samajh Aaya (Now I understand)

Now I realize that no one will ever truly understand me
I think I should try to remain silent from now on.

Beshak lagaa kay dekh len bharpoor zor (Give it all the strength you have)

                            ~ Sarvar 'Nepali' ~

English translation:
Do whatever you can - Give it all the strength you have
But you will never be able to turn a crow into a peacock.

This couplet, written by 'Sarvar Nepali', reveals a simple yet profound truth:
No matter how hard one tries - no matter how much effort is put in - the basic nature and character of an object or a person cannot be changed.

Just as a crow can never become a peacock, a cruel or dishonest person cannot be transformed into a kind, gentle, or noble person simply by giving some speeches or by changing their appearance.

The verse reminds us to accept reality as it is, rather than wasting energy on trying to change what is inherently unchangeable.
Instead, we should spend our energy on other positive and constructive activities.

Tadbeer - The ways of the world

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                English translation
Why do they utter my name with disdain,
Those with whom I always meet with honor and respect?
Restless through the night, I could not sleep —
My heart was heavy and sad since yesterday evening.
When I contend with no one, seek no acclaim,
Why do they feel envy at the mention of my name?
And how can I complain to them — in which way?
For they gave me sorrow too — with courtesy and grace.
In my heedlessness, my garment was torn apart.
Now I am trying to mend it with great care and caution.
If someone wrongs you, forgive and let it be
What will you truly gain by taking revenge?
Those I once saw humble and wandering like beggars,
Now roam in splendor —adorned with pride and preen.
Why do you keep an eye on what others do?
One should mind only one’s own affairs.
If we could learn the skill of calm detachment,
Then life, my friends, would flow with ease and in peace.
Surrender the reins of your life to the Master (of the universe)
All troubles will dissolve by His divine arrangements.
Truth cannot be found merely by reading, studying, or listening,
It dawns within as realization — through the soul’s awakening and stirring.
All the grandeur and splendor of this world are false & fleeting;
O Rajan, now let your heart dissolve in the love and glory of All-pervading Ram.
                   " Rajan Sachdeva "
P.S.
I began composing this ghazal at yesterday’s twilight hour,
And now, with humble reverence, I offer it at your service.
Jab tak saans chalti hai - As long as the breath continues
      Uthaana khud hee padta hai thakaa toota badan 'Fakhri'
      Ki jab tak saans chalti hai koi kandhaa nahin detaa
                                              ~ Zahid Fakhri ~
उठाना ख़ुद ही पड़ता है थका टूटा बदन 'फ़ख़री'
कि जब तक साँस चलती है कोई कंधा नहीं देता
                           English translation:
"One has to carry one’s own weary, shattered life —
For as long as breath continues, no shoulder is ever offered.”
                                       ~~~~~~~~~~~

This seemingly simple couplet by
Zahid Fakhri points to a bitter reality - that often, in difficult times, when we desperately need and long for support, very few people come forward and stand beside us.
Everyone must carry the burden of their own journey.
Some people might accompany us for a while, offer a few words of comfort, and sit with us for a short time—but when life's burdens become too heavy, when the spirit trembles, and our courage falters, we must gather the strength to stand up and rise again on our own.
We Must Carry our own weight.
Strangely, when the breath stops - when life departs, countless people suddenly appear to carry the coffin.
Countless shoulders are offered to carry the lifeless body.
But while breath was alive and struggling, not many came forward to offer genuine support and companionship - to share the burden.
Therefore, we should not rely too much on others.

Perhaps this is destiny’s way of reminding us:
Never depend too much on others
Never expect others to come to your aid and carry your weight.
The path of life is to be endured alone, and the true dignity of life lies in choosing our own path and bearing our own burdens.

Ae dost zindgi mein kabhi ye bhi kar kay dekh

Ae dost zindgi mein kabhi ye bhi kar kay dekh
Dushmanon ki jholi mein bhi phool bhar kay dekh

Miltay nahin hain moti kinaaray pay baith kar
Ae dil samandaron mein tu gehray utar kay dekh

Mayoos na ho is qadar kaanton ko dekh kar
Khiltay huye ye phool bhi tu rahguzar kay dekh

Manzil bhi mil jayegi, tu be-sabar na ho
Ae dil zaraa abhi to nazaaray safar kay dekh

Raah mein qudarat kay nazaaray thehar kay dekh
Ye rang badaltay huye shaam-o-sehar kay dekh

Mausam-e-gul mein kabhi kaliyon ko khiltay dekh
Ye husn-e-mahtaab -  ye  jalway abar kay dekh

Tufaanon mein sambhalnaa bhi in say seekh lay
Ye doob kee haleemi, hausalay shajar kay dekh

Hai mukhtalif ehasaas ka majmooaa zindagi
Hai vasl ki khushi to kabhi gham hijar kay dekh

Duniya sudhaarnay ki fikar chhod day yaara

Waqt say pehlay kabhi kuchh bhi nahin miltaa
Tu chhod day shikaayaten aur sabar kar kay dekh

Mad-hoshi mein milti hai taskeen kis qadar
Ye raaz hosh ki kabhi had say guzar kay dekh

Khultaa nahin hai raaz-e-dil chehray ko dekh kar
Peechhay chhupa hai kya zara is chashm-e-tar kay dekh

Ab to badal chuki hai zamaanay ki rasm-o-raah
Badlay huye hain log bhi ab is shehar kay dekh

Kitnay sitam sahay magar phir bhi duaayen deen
Ae dost, hausalay zaraa meray jigar kay dekh

Achchha rahaa jahaan-e-rang-o-boo ka ye safar
Ab raastay 'Rajan' zaraa aglay safar kay dekh
