Badan pay Sharaafat ka Pairahan - Cloak of innocence

A philosophical composition of poet Neeraj -
which is as valid today as it was yesterday.
            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Badan pay jis kay Sharaafat ka pairahan dekhaa
Vo aadami bhee yahaan ham nay bad-chalan dekhaa
Khreednay ko jisay kam thi daulat-e-duniya
Kisi Kabeer ki mutthi mein vo Ratan dekhaa
Mujhay mila hai vahaan apnaa hee badan zakhmi
Kahin jo teer say ghaayal koyi hiran dekhaa
Badaa na chhotaa koyi - farq bas nazar ka hai
Sabhi pay chaltay samay ek saa kafan dekhaa
 Zubaan hai aur bayaan aur - us ka matlab aur
Ajeeb aaj kee duniya ka Vyaakaran dekhaa
Luteray daaku bhee apanay pay naaz karnay lagay
Unhon nay aaj jo Santon ka aacharan dekhaa
Jo Saadgi hai kuhan mein hamaari ae 'Neeraj'
Kisi pay aur bhee kya aisaa baankpan dekhaa
