Two types of Gratitude

It is said that in order to live a happy and peaceful life,
we should develop an attitude of gratitude.

There are two types of gratitude.

First is to be grateful for what we have - what we possess - such as a healthy body, a home, a loving family, an amicable job or business, a vehicle for transportation, a few good caring and helping friends, meaningful relationships, etc.

The second - is to be thankful for what we don't have -
Such as a terminal illness, financial burdens, food shortage, torn-up relationships, etc.
We should remember that many people do not have what we have.

Being born as a human is a blessing in itself.

We should always be grateful that we are healthy and free from any terrible disease - that we are fortunate to be spared from bad situations and bad luck by which so many seem to be affected around us.

Therefore - Let's be grateful for what we have -
and also for the adversaries and challenges that we don't have.

  2. In those situations when we realize how kind God has been to us, let us help the other person to reduce/mitigate his/her misery. That’s one way of expressing our gratitude to God. 🙏🏼
