Red and Black Ants

Recently I came across a nice story.
Some people have made a few videos around this story too.
The story goes like this -

If you collect 100 black and 100 fire ants and put them in a glass jar - nothing will happen.
But if you take the jar - shake it violently, and leave it on the table, the ants will start killing each other.
Red ants believe that black is the enemy, while black believe that red is the enemy -
but the real enemy is the person who shook the jar.

The same is true in society.
Men vs Women - Black vs White - Faith vs Science & logic - Youngs vs Old, one Religion vs others, etc.
Before we fight each other - we must ask ourselves -
Who rocked the jar?

I don't know if this experiment with red and black ants was actually conducted and scientifically proven or not.
However, what is interesting about this story is that even if it is not true - it conveys an excellent, virtuous message.
The ants in this story might be a metaphor.
By using creatures in nature and comparing them with human-like characteristics, the author hopes that the reader will be drawn into the story and eventually, reflect upon the moral of the story.
Obviously, the focus here is not on the ants, but on the person that shook the jar.

This story starts with the red and black ants living in harmony.
Clash and fighting began when an outside force intervened.
The shaking of the jar creates conflict and chaos.

Similarly - usually, people live and go about their daily lives in harmony.
But now and then, someone shakes our jar, and we start blaming others for our problems and fight with each other.

Of all the things that currently divide us as a human race - religion and political beliefs are the two major platforms that pull us apart. Although they are a small part of who we really are - they still play a major role in our lives.
We all are like the ants in the jar - existing side by side - and often helping one another in day-to-day life.
Until someone comes and tells us that we are different than others - that we are better than others - chosen ones and superior to others - and all our problems are because of them.

We should always try to think rationally and assess every situation by using our own judgment and wisdom with an open mind in a broad spectrum.
Let's not allow anyone to cloud our judgment and pull us apart.
Let's all live in harmony and peace.
