Elite, Gyanis, wise and knowledgeable people, do not like to praise themselves. 

Nor do they want to hear praise and flattery done on their face.

They display their valor - not by words - but by doing challenging and laborious deeds. 

Instead of just talking about good deeds, they go out and actually do the work to help needy people - 

without expecting anything in return - not even praise and appreciation.
