Mrs. Ranjeet Puri - the wife of Professor Puri (renowned scholar & Pracharak of the Nirankari Mission), left this mortal world on May 1st - at the age of 93.
She was lovingly called Jeeta Mamma - because her kind and caring nature touched the hearts of everyone who met her.
Anyone who has spent time with her would know what a great soul she was.
She received the Brahm Gyan from Shehanshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji in 1948 along with Professor Puri Ji - and served the Mission shoulder to shoulder with her husband all her life - first in Delhi and then in the USA.
(In 1974, for the propagation of the mission - Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji sent Rev Puri Sahib, along with his wife and family, to the USA.)
There is a saying that behind every successful man, there is a woman.
And Jeeta Mamma fits this role perfectly.
In a society that often values individual success above all else, Mrs. Puri saw more value in supporting her husband and his work - along with taking care of the family.
It seemed her mission in life was only to support her husband and his missionary work.
But more importantly - she supported her husband - not as a compulsion - but wholeheartedly.
Perhaps, it would have been difficult for Prof. Puri Sahib to achieve such success without full support from his wife and family.
Therefore, the impact of her direct and behind the scene role can not be undervalued in the advancement of the mission in the USA and Canada.
So many visitors would come to Bhawan regularly - and she always welcomed everyone with open arms and served them with love - offering whatever was available at the time. People still remember and admire her hospitality - with no show-off - but simplicity.
Eeveryone who met her was touched by her warmth and hospitality.
This shows that even small acts of love and kindness can profoundly impact others.
That showing off is not necessary to please someone.
She will always be loved and remembered for her contributions and service - her fond memories will always live in our minds - even though she is not with us physically anymore.
She leaves behind a legacy for all of us to follow that the greatest gifts we can give are not only money and worldly things - but those of the heart - simplicity, kindness, and love - to rise above all differences and disagreements and always be helpful and grateful.
We can all learn from such great souls - and strive to make a positive difference in our lives.

ReplyDeleteMy reverances
ReplyDeleteFrom the time of my childhood, our family was very close to the family of Rev Prof Puri Ji. You are so right in your tribute to his wife, Respected Ranjeet Ji. She was the kind hearted person who took care of her husband, her family, and all saints who came in touch with them. Her love for us was unconditional. I’m truly fortunate to be so close to the whole family, and to have received their love and blessings. She was a Devi in my humble opinion, and is now in her True Home. May Nirankar bless us with the same qualities as hers. ๐๐ผ
