Vo mar gaye hain magar (They are dead but...

Awaam aaj bhi kachay gharon me rehtay hain
Vo mar gaye hain magar makbaron me rehtay hain
                                                            ' Haseeb Soz '

Found this nice and deep Sher (couplet) on the internet that reflects the sensitivity of the poet's thoughts.

There are some people who simply look at the outer, visible beauty of an object and become awestruck.
And there are others - philosophers and realistic poets - who look beyond the outer surface and observe everything deeply - and their hearts cry for justice and fairness.

In this verse - just like Sahir Ludhianavi - this poet also wonders at the irony of life - at the strange ways of the world.
He says:
The dead kings and emperors - even after death, still live in grand majestic tombs - that are built like extravagant, lavish palaces.
While millions of ordinary people work hard day and night and yet live hand to mouth in mud houses.
How strange are the ways of this world?

  1. Becoz of the hard fact that inequity is global order. Like positive-negative; black-white; day-night; man-woman....

  2. True!
Life itself seems to be an accident of birth and circumstances.
