Apni jhompdi kay ek konay mein dubkaa -
intzaar kar rahaa tha -
ki kab thamegi ye baarish
Jis men doob chukay thay us kay saaray Sapnay - Armaan
Choolha, Roti aur Makaan - Saaray ghar ka Saamaan
Aur saamnay ki ek mehal-numaa kothi say
jor jor say aa rahi thin, aavaazen
Barso re megha - megha, barso re - megha,
Zaraa jhoom kay barso, aur jhoom kay barso
Aur vo soch raha thaa ki -
Kis ka paksh lengay Bhagvaan?

English Translation
Someone - huddled in a corner of a hut -
Shivering - Waiting -
Thinking -
"When will this rain stop?"
Rain - in which all his dreams and desires were drowned -
Chulha*, bread, and house; all household items (were drowned).
and from a large mansion in front of him -
Loud voices were coming -
Barso re Megha, Megha - Barso re Megha
Shower a little more - and more again
with thunder and joy - shower some more rain.
And he was Wondering -
Whose side will God take?
(English Translation: Rajan Sachdeva)
*Chulha = a small handmade wooden stove
Great 😊
