Radhakrishna Rao - Receives Nobel Prize at the age of 102


C Radhakrishna Rao was born on 10 September 1920 - to a Telugu family in Hadagali, Karnataka.
His schooling was done in Andhra Pradesh.
He retired at the age of sixty and went to live with his daughter in America and his grandchildren.
At the age of 62, he became a professor of statistics at the University of Pittsburgh, and at the age of 70, he became the head of the department at the University of Pennsylvania.
US citizenship at the age of 75.
National Medal For Science at the age of 82 - a White House honor.
Now, at the age of 102, he received the Nobel Prize in Statistics.

Currently, he is a professor emeritus at Pennsylvania State University and Research Professor at the University at Buffalo. Rao has received many honors. He was awarded the title of Padma Bhushan by the Indian Government (1968) and Padma Vibhushan in 2001.

At the age of 102, receiving a Nobel while in good physical condition is probably the first example - An event that should be considered a moment of pride by all of us, especially Indians!
