True Love

            Panchhi jaisa Prem nahin - jo Paid sookhay ud jaaye 

            Prem hoye to Machhli jaisa - Jal sookhay mar jaaye 

True Love is not like a bird that flies away and abandons the tree when it grows barren. 

True love should be like a fish — that cannot live without the water - it dies when the water dries up.

Love should not be like the bird that departs and flies away when the tree withers, and starts seeking another branch, another shelter. 

Such love is shallow and superficial, based only on convenience, comfort, and personal gain.

True love is like the fish in the water: inseparable from its source, willing to endure and even perish rather than abandon. 

The test of true love is not its fleeting ecstasy or its longevity, but its unwavering steadfastness.

Real love is not measured by how long it lasts in times of abundance, but by how stable and steadfast it remains in times of hardship and adversity.

When circumstances dry up, when life no longer offers shade or sustenance—when support dries up—when circumstances are not favorable— does love take flight? 

Does that old love then disappear? 

Or does it stay rooted and steadfast even unto death?  

The depth of love is revealed not in joy - not in times of prosperity and abundance, but in times of difficult trials. 

Only that love is true and eternal which remains constant in every situation—which does not waver even in times of hardship and adversity, and continues with unwavering strength - until the last breath.
