Karm kamandal kar liye

Karm kamandal kar liye, 'Tulasi' jenh lag jaaye
Saritaa, Saagar, koop jal boond na adhik samaaye
                                         ~ Sant Tulasi Das ~

Holding the bucket of one’s Karma in his hand,
“Tulasi” says wherever one may go –
The river or the ocean or to a well –
Not even a drop of extra water can he fetch
(That is - more that the capacity of the bucket)

In other words, Sant Tulasi Das says that in fact, it’s one’s Karma and intention –
Shradhaa, faith and devotion which brings forth the fruit.
If one does not have pure devotion and faith in his heart –
If one’s Karma and the intention behind the actions is not pure –
Then, regardless of where one goes – may not achieve the desired outcome.

Many people think that by changing the place or the object of their worship – they might get more satisfaction. However, in reality, it depends more on the capacity of the receiver - rather than the provider’s ability to give.
Baba Avtar Singh ji used to say: “you don’t need to come running to me to pray for your well-being. If your heart is pure and you have trust in the Lord - then you can even pray to a child with faith and your genuine desire would be fulfilled. You don’t have to come to Delhi or wherever I am (physically).”
So, instead of getting dismayed or disheartened, we should try to do some self-analysis – and make our hearts bigger and more open to receive
and to give generously as well.
