A question worth reflecting on:
If everyone copied their leader's daily routines --
If every individual in a society starts to follow the daily routine, habits, and working style of their chosen leader, would society rise or fall?
Would it evolve, or slowly begin to decline and disintegrate?
Would the lives of those who follow them become better than before?
Would they grow more aware, more responsible, more sensitive?
Or would they become weaker—more dependent, more indifferent, and increasingly insensitive toward others?
Would the lives of those who follow them become better than before?
Would they grow more aware, more responsible, more sensitive?
Or would they become weaker—more dependent, more indifferent, and increasingly insensitive toward others?
Progress is not guaranteed by mere powerful speeches and imitation alone.
The real measure of progress lies in whether such imitation strengthens individual conscience, makes individuals more aware, more responsible, and more sensitive - or does it slowly weaken their moral strength, quietly erode courage, and turn people into passive followers?
A society may appear orderly and disciplined on the surface, yet become hollow from within if people are stopped from questioning, discouraged from thinking independently, and taking inner responsibility for their own choices.
When leadership replaces personal conscience, and imitation replaces insight, society may seem to gain order temporarily - for a short while, but may lose its soul in the process.
Ultimately, the question is not just about leadership.
It's about blind faith - blind imitation and obedience
The question is:
To what extent is it justifiable to abandon one's own conscience and inner responsibility in the name of ideology, religion, or loyalty?

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct. Stagnant water gets dirty soon. It is extremely difficult to turn a steering wheel when the vehicle is stopped. Fanatic and Stagnant thoughts lead to destruction of self and the society. Blindly following anything brings rust to the Brain, thought process and healthy progress.
ReplyDeleteDevelopment and progress in any project or in any organization or any community or country solely depends on awareness, open discussion, eagerness to embrace new ideas, new researches and evidence based approaches.
Orthodoxy creates a cult of people living in a pond, creates a false belief that they are the best in the world, satisfied and happy…

My neighbor Geoff Abbot has published his book “Unauthorized Progress - Leadership from the Middle”. His idea is that leadership doesn’t have to flow from top to bottom. Instead, it can flow from the middle to the top AND to the bottom. Interesting concept!
ReplyDeleteI think society’s progress is a balance between leadership, individual conscience & responsibility, and also consensus. Consensus is also necessary in order to avoid chaos.
