Earning a place and respect depends on personal qualities

                      "Padam hi Sarvatra Gunai-Nirdheeyatay"
Meaning:
Personal qualities determine one’s place, status, and prestige everywhere.

Earning a place in society and winning love and respect in people’s hearts depend entirely on one’s personal qualities.
Every action—good or bad—leaves an impression on the hearts of others.
Whether our deeds bring benefit or cause harm and suffering, each leaves a mark on society.
Good deeds generate admiration and inspiration, while harmful actions invite criticism and disdain.

At times, the misconduct of a few individuals tarnishes the image of an entire community
or group— their entire society may be viewed with suspicion and hatred.
And this is natural. As the saying goes, "one fish pollutes the pond.

But it is also true that the bad deeds of a few individuals may not cause as much harm as the silence of good and wise people.
History reveals that the silence of good and wise people often causes more damage than the misdeeds of a few.
Remaining neutral towards an ideology that breeds hatred for others or silently supporting wrongdoing is as blameworthy as committing the wrong itself.
When people of wisdom and conscience fail to speak out against wrong doctrines and do not stand up against falsehood and injustice, they inadvertently allow greater harm to take root in the future.

As the Vedas proclaim:
                  “Satyameva Jayate — Naanritam”
Support the truth - not falsehood.

    1. Wonderful thoughts, Rajan Ji…

Your words beautifully remind us that true respect and honor arise from one’s character and deeds, not from status or position.

As the Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches: Do what is right fearlessly and who conquers his own mind conquers the world. “Man jeetai jag jeet.”

The Quran also conveys a similar truth — “Jo khud ko badalne ki koshish karta hai, Allah uski madad karta hai.”

Thank you for sharing such inspiring thoughts.
