Jin ki ungliyaan pakad kay chalnaa seekhay thay 

Haath un kay kaamptay ab dekh rahay hain 

Ab vo chaltay hain to paanv ladkhadaatay hain 

Laathi pakad kay un ko chaltay dekh rahay hain 

Vaqt ke saath kis qadar laachaar ho jaatay hain sab 

Umar jab dhal jaati hai 

To kitnay bebas aur naachaar ho jaatay hain sab 

Is haal mein un ko dekh kar - 

Dil mein ye khyaal aata hai 

ki kal hamaaray saath bhee kya aisaa hee hoga? 

Kya ham bhee isi tarah bebas aur laachaar ho jayenge? 

Kuchh pakadnaa chaahengay to haath kaampengay

Lagtaa hai ye sab hamaaray saath bhi hoga 

kyonki yahi jeevan ka niyam hai 

Bananaa, sanvarnaa, badhnaa aur vistrit hona 

Phir ek din mit jaanaa - samaapt ho jaana 

Yahi prakrati ka siddhaant hai - yahee qudarat ka niyam hai

Those whose fingers we once held to learn how to walk,

Today, we see their hands trembling.

Now, when they walk, their feet stumble,

And we see them walking with the support of a stick.

How helpless everyone becomes with time,

When age declines,

How powerless and feeble everyone turns.

Seeing them in this state,

A thought arises in the mind:

Will the same happen to us tomorrow?

Will we too become so helpless and frail?

When we try to hold something, will our hands tremble?

Will our feet falter when we walk?

Will old memories blur away?

Will we become irritable at every little thing?

Will we have to strain our minds to remember something?

And search for words to speak?

Perhaps all this will happen to us too, 

Because this is the law of life:

To be born, to grow, to flourish, and expand —

And then one day to fade away — to come to an end.

This is the principle of nature, the law of existence.

No one has ever been able to change it 

Nor will anyone ever be able to.

We must accept it and move forward in life.

Every new generation tries to move ahead

Not by ignoring the experiences of the old generation,

But by learning from them

And building further from that point.

Because this ability and virtue —

To learn and progress —

is granted only to humans.

That is why humanity has continued to move forward

And will keep advancing on the path of progress.

Therefore, instead of mocking the elders,

Instead of merely expressing sympathy towards them,

As long as we have time, let us sit with them,

Learn from them and their experiences,

And then strive to pass on those learned lessons,

Along with our own new experiences,

To the next generation.

We must make the effort to teach and guide them,

So that Rajan' - this wheel of human life 

may continue to move forward — 

Unstoppably, ceaselessly, and uninterruptedly

On the path of progress.
