Ajab dastoor hai insaan ka ab is zamaanay mein 

Lagay hain log ik doojay ko bas neecha dikhaanay mein 

Na apno kee khabar koyi na mustakbil kee chintaa hai 

Sabhi masroof hain dekho sirf paisaa kamaanay mein 

Nahin insaaf miltaa hai kachehari mein bhee ab yaaro 

Nahin hoti hai sunvayee kisi daftar ya thaanay mein 

Ibaadatgaah mein ghairon kee jaana to mumaanat hai 

Magar baithay sabhi ko saath dekha hai maikhaanay mein 

Ulajh jaata hai man aqsar kisi kee baaton mein aa kar 

Umar lagati hai phir uljhay huye dhaagay suljhaanay mein 

Na thukraana puraanay rishtay chhoti chhoti baaton par 

Zamaanay lagatay hain 'Rajan' naye rishtay banaanay mein

Yet everyone is seen sitting together in the tavern or a bar.

The mind often gets entangled in someone’s proclamations and narratives -
