कम थीं ज़रुरतें और रिश्ते थे गहरे
फिर दौर-ऐ-ज़माना बदलता गया
मुझ में था जो एक मासूम सा बच्चा
पिछड़ता गया वो सहमता गया
Maasom tha vaqt aur maasoom thay chehray
Kam thin zaroorten aur rishtay thay gehray
Phir daur-e-zamaana badaltaa gayaa
Mujh me tha jo ek maasoom sa bachaa
Pichhadta gaya vo sehamtaa gayaa

The times were innocent -
and people were innocent indeed.
The needs were few -
and the relationships were deep
Then the times changed
That innocent child, which was within me -
became frustrated, disheartened, and intimidated
and could not move forward anymore.

ReplyDeleteSo true ..... all my life I have been taught that human and spiritual values are the key etc....but when reality hits then you know that all everyone cares about is money.... everywhere it's the same ... in any org or even in the family you get no respect unless you are rich and influential ...or you are good for them in some way. Now I understand why they say spirituality is individual...
ReplyDeleteIt's sad...but at the same time, knowing the reality makes you stronger to focus on your own meditation and progress...You can be more alert and careful when you have seen the illusion.
Beautifully and meaningfully explained. Thanks a lot ji
ReplyDeleteEver increasing consumerism coupled with materialism dominating human to human discourse snatched innosence & replaced it with "I-MY-ME" culture instead of "WE-OUR-OURSELVES"
