The Purpose of Education

The real purpose of education and knowledge is to enhance our dignity and thinking - to improve, not just our own life and the life of our fellow-beings - but the whole of humanity as well.
Vedas proclaim: 'Vidyaa dadaati Vinayam'
"The education; knowledge makes a person humble and kind towards others – it broadens his horizon.
The real education makes one understand what the Vedas declared: “Vasudhaaiv Kutumbakam”
Meaning: The whole of humanity is one family.
Unfortunately, instead of helping others, some people use their knowledge to harm and destroy others.
Randomly attacking and killing some innocent people and placing their families in a terrible grief - without even knowing who those individuals are - is beyond comprehension.
As A. P. J. Abdul Kalam once said:
"Real education enhances the dignity of a human being and increases his or her self-respect. If only the real sense of education could be realized by each individual and carried forward in every field of human activity, the world will be so much a better place to live in".
