Tearing the words apart and creating their new meanings seems to have become a new fashion these days - like breaking the word- Harmony into Har - Manni (accepting defeat), breaking Divali into Diva - Ali (lamp of Ali) etc. - and changing the true meaning of the words.
Over the centuries, Saints and sages, and the Holy Scriptures have been guiding us to attain ‘Naam-Dhan’; the Divine/Spiritual Wealth.
Now, it seems that we have changed the word ‘Naam-Dhan’ also into "Naam and Dhan” - changing its real meaning from 'Divine wealth' into 'Fame and Wealth'. And therefore, our focus has turned from spirituality towards accumulating fame and wealth. Today, it seems quite obvious that instead of Naam-Dhan, we are chasing after Naam & Dhan.
During the era of Satguru Baba Avtar Singh Ji, the Gyana; divine knowledge was given to those who were real seekers - who had studied religious texts and had an acute desire to find God. Since the earlier pioneers of the mission were real seekers and dedicated, they understood the real value of the Gyana and showed utmost devotion towards it.
However, in today's time, the Gyana is bestowed upon anyone – whether they are real seekers or not – if they have studied Scriptures or not - sometimes even if one doesn't have any desire to receive it.
When Gyana is obtained without the real desire, the real devotion does not appear in the heart. The same old Gyana does not have the same old effect. Instead of passion, it becomes a ritual. And for the intellectual mind, it may simply become a superficial game of intellect, which lacks the purity of the heart and mind.
And when there is devotion only from the mind – which lacks the purity of the heart - then it is natural that there will be less appreciation for the Gyana and less dedication towards it.
Today, we seriously need to think – collectively, or individually in our own mind, and honestly ask this question to ourselves - Are we doing Satsang, Seva, community services and Sumiran etc. to attain "Naam Dhan"- or to acquire "Naam And Dhan” - Name and Wealth – just for the sake of glory and prestige in the world?

Wow...Thank you for your honesty. A very true statement. Dhan Nirankar Ji
ReplyDeleteDhan Nirankar Uncle Ji, I wanted to ask you a few questions about this blog.
ReplyDelete1) Do you need to have a religious background or faith in scripture to really appreciate the Gyan and be a seeker ?
2) A person without any faith or background in Indian Spiritual tradition would they have the same experience and or faith as a Seeker with a previous background ? Can Nirankar or Brahm Gyan be appreciated independent of any faith or religious leaning ?
I look forward to your response ji.
Dhan Nirankar Ji !
