Yesterday evening - after the Satsang at the new residence of Rajni Ji and Jagpreet Thakur Ji - some brothers and sisters were sitting by me on the lawn outside.
One of them asked - can we do the same Ardaas repeatedly? Again and again?
Or should we do it only once?
I said - this is simply a matter of personal belief and sentiments.
Although a one-time Ardaas - prayer is enough - because even a one-time Ardaas can reach Almighty Nirankar.
However, if you are not satisfied - then there is no harm in asking again and again - for the satisfaction of your mind.
As it is said in Gurbani -
" Kita lodiye kamm so Hari pai aakhie "
Meaning -
If you need something to be done -- if you have a desire - or if you are facing some difficulty, then do Ardaas - pray to the Lord.
But on the other hand - the Gyanis believe -
" Bin boliyan sab kich jaanada kis aagay kichai Ardaas "
Meaning -
If God knows everything without saying, then what is the need to do Ardaas?
To pray or not - To pray once or repeatedly -
All this depends on personal feelings.
Every Bhakt - every devotee has their own state of mind - their own state in Bhakti. Their own feelings and emotions.
So whatever one likes - whatever belief is satisfying to someone, that is the right path for them.
While remembering these conversations of yesterday, a thought came to my mind today ---
"Ghabraa kay zindagi kay gam-e-laazawaal say
Kartay hain ham duaen apnay Rab say baar baar
Par baar baar maangnay say 'Rajan' kya hogaa
Dua hai vo jo Sachay dil say niklay ek baar "
The Prayer - that is prayed from a pure heart and with a sincere devotion reaches God.
" Rajan Sachdeva "
Gam-e-Laazawaal = Never-ending sufferings
Prayer from the heart is a personal choice๐น๐น
ReplyDeleteIn my humble opinion, a prayer for our own personal needs and wants is okay, but a prayer for everyone’s well being and happiness is better. ๐๐ผ

ReplyDeleteThank you Uncle Ji ! I loved this blog. When we need something right away, we beg the Lord to make it happen fast hence we keep asking. If its not time sensitive we are more patient. However, the highest stage in my mind is where you do your karma and leave it to God and accept as it is. If you believe Nirankar is all knowing.. its true, there is no need to ask. Actually, as per Bhagvad Gita and Gurbani Nirankar is an Super Energy Force that does nothing...it is the Source of life and Creation. We are a part of Nirankar as the Soul so whatever we do we reap the results. So our life is the combo of our past life karmas and what we have done till now. So the Nirankar within us as Soul enables us to do what we want and we can change our circumstances to some degree. Although I also do believe that as we attach ourself to Nirankar Divine Energies do help us as well.
ReplyDelete10-yr old son, “Dad, I’ve outgrown my childhood bike. Please get me an adult bike.”
ReplyDeleteDad, “Later, son.”
14-yr old son, “Dad, I’ve asked you for an adult bike several times, and each time you say “later”. Please get me one now.”
Dad, “Sure, son. Let’s go and buy it.”
Surprised son asked, “Why did you make me wait so many years?”
Dad, “Because I know you will be able to handle it now, without getting injured.”
We too can do the Ardaas to God, either one time or many times, but He knows when is the right time to grant it to us.
