Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

This morning, I came across one of the most famous quotes by Shakespeare.

"Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death.
Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more.
It is a tale - told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing."

This is one of the most famous speeches from Shakespeare’s Macbeth - an expression of deep sadness and hopelessness, that life is meaningless, short, and full of noise—but ultimately empty.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, and another tomorrow keep coming, one after another.
Time keeps moving, creeping along at a slow, dull pace until the very end of time.
Life is short and fragile, like a tiny flame that can be blown out instantly - just like a shadow that moves around for a while and disappears - or like a bad actor who strides and worries during his short performance on stage — and then disappears, never to be seen or heard again.
The past shows that everyone is eventually led to death and decay.
Life is a story: loud, emotional, full of noise and fury—
But in the end, it means nothing at all.

There comes a time in life, when we might also resonate with the above and feel that life is worthless and devoid of purpose.
Indeed, the past shows that eventually all beings are led to death and decay.
However, the past also shows that mankind has always lived with a purpose - a purpose of enriching human life - to improve the surroundings and environment.
Man has always sought to find new ways to make life easier and to enhance the world around us, to make it a better place to live. 

We have also always been curious to know our real Self - why we are here, our reason for existence, and our relation to the universe.
The ancient Indian Sanatan ideology proclaims:
There are four Purusharth - four primary purposes of human life:
Namely - Dharm, Arth, Kaam, and Moksha.
  • Dharm does not mean a religion. It is a Sanskrit word that encircles and includes one’s personal nature, values, thoughts, habits, ethics, duties, etc.
  • Arth refers to wealth or the means of livelihood.
  • Kaam signifies desires and needs — the pursuit of pleasure, love, and emotional fulfillment.
  • And Moksha stands for liberation — freedom from fear, ignorance, and the cycle of suffering.
