Gairiyat ki deewaren giraa den - Let's tear down walls of alienation

Aao gairiyat kee ye deevaaren giraa den
Farq apnay aur begaano kay mitaa den
Mil kay ab basaayen ek prem ki duniya
Nafarton qadoorton kay parday hataa den

Lekin ye ik taraf say to ho nahin saktaa
Dono or say hee haath badhnaa chaahiye
'Na koyi bairi hai na dushman na begaana'
Har kisi kay dil mein aisaa jazbaa chaahiye

Sab ko apnay jaisaa hee gar dekh paayengay
Tang-dilee say agar oopar uth jaayengay
Har taraf sadaa jo mohabbat ki aayegi
'Rajan' phir ye dharti hee jannat ho jaayegi

                                                Translation

Let's tear down these walls of estrangement and alienation
And eliminate the distinctions between 'Ours and Others'
Let us together create a world of love
and remove the cloaks of hatred and disdain

But this cannot be done from one side only
Hands must be extended from both sides
'There is no enemy - no rival - no opponent or foe'
Everyone must conceive this passion in their heart

If everyone sees others as themselves
If everyone rises above narrow-mindedness
If the trumpet of love blows in all directions
O Rajan - this earth will then become like heaven
                             "Rajan Sachdeva "
