Do you offer to others what you ask for yourself?
Such as love, affection, friendship, respect, understanding, cooperation, truthfulness, and honesty, etc.?
If you don’t, then do not expect the same from others.
Do you extend a helping hand to friends, relatives, or even strangers who might be needing it?
If you don’t, then do not expect the same from others.
Do you share your dreams, pain, tears, fantasies - good and bad times - good fortune, joy, and laughter with others?
If you don’t, then do not expect the same from others.
We usually become unhappy when we do not get proper respect, truth, and honesty from others.
But at the same time - we do not want to provide the same to them.
The reason is simple.
Because we think that we deserve their love and respect, but they are not worthy of our respect.
We forget that love and respect is a two-way street.
Whatever we give comes back to us.
If we disrespect others, then that is what will come back to us.
Therefore, be mindful of what we offer to others.

ReplyDeleteThanks. The Hindu Indian philosophers had figured this out thousands of years ago - centuries before Newton - that we should treat others as we want to be treated by them. Because everyone is a part of the Whole.
