Maha Shivaratri -Time to awaken the Shiva Tatva within

Maha Shivaratri means realizing the Shiva Tatva and celebrating the Peace Within.

On this night, the constellations are aligned in a particular position, which is considered very auspicious for meditation.
Mahashivaratri is the day when the Shiva Tattva is believed to be very close to the earth.
The consciousness, the aura, or the transcendental world, which is believed to always be above the material ground, comes closer to the earth element on the day of Mahashivratri when the constellations are aligned. Therefore, people are encouraged to stay awake and meditate during this night.

The day of Shiv and Parvati's wedding.

Shiv is Soul, and Parvati is Shakti, the power of creativity in the physical world.
It is, in fact, the wedding of the Spiritual and Material elements.
There is no difference between the Soul and Shiva.
Our true nature, or the true nature of the soul, is Shiva.
                 "Satyam Shivam Sundaram."
Shiva is the Truth, the non-dual one - Peace and infinite beauty.
Staying awake on this night means awakening to and realizing the Shiva Tatva within oneself.

                           Why Ratri?

Ratri, translated in English as the night, is that which gives you rest or peace.
Ratri means to rest from physical activities and take refuge.
Shivaratri is a time to take refuge in Shiva (the soul).
It is celebrating the Shiva Tatva within oneself.
As the Bhagavad Gita says, "Atmanaiva Aatmna Tushtah."
Being happy and satisfied within oneself is real Peace.

Three things are needed in life to be truly peaceful:
1. Material and Financial Security
2. Mental Peace and
3. Peace/ bliss in the soul
Without financial security, without a secure future for good health and survival, one cannot be peaceful.
If there is any disturbance around us, the mind cannot be peaceful.
We need peace in our environment - in our home and surroundings.
We need harmony in our bodies and minds.
And we also need peace in the Soul - in the subconscious mind.
Sometimes, we have peace in the environment, enjoy good health, and even have peace of mind to a certain extent. Still, if the soul is restless, nothing can bring us real comfort and true peace.
So, attaining peace of soul is also essential.
Only in the presence of all the above can there be complete peace.
Without one, the other is incomplete.

Shivaratri is a time to take refuge in Divine consciousness, which brings peace and solace to all layers of consciousness - that is, the conscious, subconscious, and unconscious mind.
So resting and taking refuge in the Shiva Tattva is Maha Shivaratri.
When the mind, intellect, and ego rest in the Divine, that is the complete, everlasting peace.

                 A Day For Meditation

Shivaratri is considered an auspicious day for spiritual growth.
The ancient Rishis and scholars said, 'If you cannot do it every day, at least do meditation and keep awake on Shivratri and Maha Shivratri and wake the Divinity that is deep seated within you.
So, this is the real message of Maha Shivratari -
"Divinity is within you, let it wake up!"
                     " Rajan Sachdeva "

Note:
Shivratri (or Masik Shivratri) is a monthly fasting observance dedicated to Lord Shiva on the 14th day of the waning moon, focusing on simple worship. Mahashivratri ("The Great Night of Shiva") occurs annually in February-March and represents the most significant, high-energy, and spiritually charged night, featuring intense night-long vigils, strict fasting, and grand festivities.
