In the sixteenth chapter of Bhagavad Geeta, Lord Krishna explained the qualities of a Brahm Gyaani in detail as such:
अभयं सत्त्वसंशुद्धिः ज्ञानयोगव्यवस्थितिः।
दानं दमश्च यज्ञश्च स्वाध्यायस्तप आर्जवम्।।
Abhayam Satva-Sanshudhih Gyaanyoga vyavasthitih
Daanam damashch yagyashch svadhyaayastap aarjavam
Fearlessness, purity of heart, steadfastness in Gyana and Yoga, almsgiving, control of the senses, sacrifice, the study of scriptures, austerity, and straightforwardness.
अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम्।
दया भूतेष्वलोलुप्त्वं मार्दवं ह्रीरचापलम्।।
Ahinsaa satyam akrodhastyaagah shaantirapaishunam
Dayaa bhooteshva aloluptvam maardavam hareerchaapalam
Harmlessness, truth, the absence of anger, renunciation, peacefulness, the absence of crookedness, compassion towards all beings, non-covetousness, gentleness, modesty, the absence of fickleness.
तेजः क्षमा धृतिः शौचमद्रोहो नातिमानिता।
भवन्ति सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातस्य भारत।।
Tejah kshamaa dhritih shauchamdroho naatimaanita
Bhavanti sampadam daiveemabhijaatasya Bhaarat
O Arjuna - Vigour, forgiveness, fortitude, purity, absence of hatred, absence of pride -- these are the treasures that belong to the one born for a divine state, (Brahm-Gyaani)
We should occasionally ask ourselves:
Do we have all these above-mentioned qualities to claim the status of a Brahm-Gyani?
If not, then we should constantly remind ourselves that in order to attain the status of Brahm-Gyani, we must achieve all these qualities first.
