(Mahabharata - Shanti Parva 326/32)
Meaning:
The light is within your own self — not elsewhere.
The great sage and learned author of the Mahabharat proclaims that the ray of light is not to be found outside or in any other place.
It is within you.
Therefore, light—happiness and peace—should not be sought externally, or outside.
It should be discovered within ourselves.
Inspiration and guidance may indeed come from others.
Ultimately, it is only by turning inward, observing ourselves objectively with honesty, and striving to walk the path of truth that life attains true fulfillment and prosperity.

ReplyDeleteWell explained Rajan ji. The ray of light can be found inside - a deeper understanding of self-introspection
ReplyDeleteVery nicely written!
ReplyDeleteI am also inspired by Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.3.28
असतो मा सद्गमय ।
तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्माऽमृतं गमय ॥
From falsehood lead me to truth,
From darkness lead me to light,
From death lead me to immortality.
