Why do we need to constantly persuade people to do what we want them to do?
People get drawn to the product- not merely persuasion.
A well or a river doesn't need to urge people to drink its water.
People come to them naturally - on their own - provided their waters are pure and sweet.
Similarly, those who have become enlightened through spiritual efforts and have attained equanimity - naturally attract people towards them.
People get drawn to them - not because of persuasion, but naturally - provided they are what they claim to be.
When we need something, we try to find the source that has what we need.

We do not go to a footwear store to find a book we want to read.
Similarly, if we want some knowledge, then we try to find a knowledgeable person - who knows more than us - who is better than us.
If we need spiritual guidance, we will look for those who are better and spiritually higher than us - those who have achieved the state we want to attain.
If our friends and relatives do not choose to accompany us on our spiritual path, then there is no point in chasing after them. They won't listen to us if they don't see those qualities in us - no matter what we say to them.

It's better to focus on the process of changing ourselves.
When they see that change in us, they will automatically come to us - without any persuasion or convincing.

Very true and very beautifully explained
ReplyDeleteWell said, as Gandhi had said, if you want change in the world be that "change" yourself.
ReplyDeleteRajan, always explains in the most rudimentary way the most profound subject. Thanks Rajan Ji.
Thank you
