Useless Memories

Yesterday, I wanted to record some music on my iPhone but it said “memory full”. I was advised
that I should delete some old, not so useful material to make some memory available for the new
or more important stuff.

It made me think that our mind is also full of countless old memories.
Some are useful and some are useless.
We have stored so much useless information in our brains that it cannot accept any new ideas.
We need to 'unlearn' and delete whatever is of no use to us anymore. Then only we can store
more new and useful thoughts.
Only by reducing our wants and worldly desires, we will be able to fill our mind
with divine thoughts.

  2. The difference is in case of phone you can buy additional storage for money but the memory of mind can not be purchased. At end it gets deleted, useful or not. That is how God levels out everyone, irrespective of color, Creed, race, Nirankaris or Sansaaris.

  3. 100% - unlearning old habits is more important to first make room for decluttering. We are creatures of habit and creating new habits often means accepting what is not not working first and then acknowledging it. Acknowledgement is the first step in behaviour modification. Otherwise, we will continue our insanity....which as Einstein defined is "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."
