Happy Independence Day.
While we celebrate the independence of our country,
let us also celebrate the spirit of Freedom within us.
May our minds be free of hatred, narrow-mindedness -
flawed concepts, and blind faiths.
Chitta Jethaa Bhaya Shoonya - Uch jethaa Shir
Gyan jethaa Mukt - Jethaa Graher Pracheer
Where the mind is free from fear
and the head is held high;
Where Gyan -the knowledge is free - (free of false concepts, and blind faiths)
Where the world has not been broken up
into fragments by the domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms
towards perfection
and flow without any hindrance;
Where the clear stream of reason and thoughts
has not lost its way
into the dreary desert sand of lowly habits and deeds;
Where the valor is not divided into hundreds of different pieces;
Where the mind is led forward by thee
into ever-widening thought and action–
Into that heaven of freedom,
my Father, let my country awake.
