Expecting absolutely nothing from anyone is extremely difficult, if not impossible.
Since we live in households and societies - not in forests or caves as individuals, we continually have to interact with families, friends, and co-workers, etc. on regular bases. There are certain expectations from family members, friends, and co-workers that may be necessary for the households, businesses, or organizations to function correctly and smoothly.
At the same time, expecting too much from others creates problems everywhere - in households or workplaces and organizations.
Since our lifestyles have changed, the ancient advice from the Bhagavad Geeta and other Scriptures of 'not expecting anything' - should be interpreted as 'not expecting too much' from others.
In fact, expect more from yourself than others.
Too many expectations from others can hurt you
- while expectations from yourself will inspire you and improve your life
