कब देखउ प्रभु आपना Kab ḏekẖu parabh aapnaa

बिलावलु महला ५ ॥ Bilaaval, Mehla 5 : 

खोजत खोजत मै फिरा खोजउ बन थान ॥ 

Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ mai firaa kẖojau ban thaan. 

अछल अछेद अभेद प्रभ ऐसे भगवान 

Achhal achheḏ abheḏ parabẖ aise bẖagvaan

कब देखउ प्रभु आपना आतम कै रंगि ॥ 

Kab ḏekẖu parabh aapnaa aatam kai rang.

जागन ते सुपना भला बसीऐ प्रभ संगि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥   

Jaagan ṯay supnaa bẖalaa basi-e parabh sang.

बरन आस्रम सासत्र सुनउ दरसन की पिआस ॥

Baran aasram saastar suno ḏarsan kee pyaas 

रुपु न रेख न पंच तत ठाकुर अबिनास 

Roop na rekh na panch tatTahaakur  abinaas. 

ओहु सरुपु संतन कहहि विरले जोगीसुर ॥ 

Oh saroop santan kahahi virlay jogeesur.  

करि किरपा जा कउ मिले धनि धनि ते ईसुर

Kar kirpaa jaa kau milay ḏẖan ḏẖan tay Eesur.

सो अंतरि सो बाहरे बिनसे तह भरमा ॥ 

So antar so baahare binsay ṯah bhrmaa. 

नानक तिसु प्रभु भेटिआ जा के पूरन करमा 

Naanak tis parabh bheteaa jaa kay puran karmaa. 

                                       Meaning 

Searching and searching, I wander around searching, in the jungles and other places.

He is undeceivable, imperishable, inscrutable; such is my Lord God.

When shall I behold my God, and delight my soul?

Better than being awake, is the dream in which I dwell with God.

Listening to the Shaastras – the Holy scriptures - about the classes and the stages of life, I grow thirsty to have the Blessed Vision of the Lord.

Having no form or outline, - nor made of the five elements; the Lord Master is imperishable.

Rare are those Saints and great Yogis, who describe such a  beautiful form of the Lord.

Blessed, blessed are they, whom the Lord meets through His own Mercy.

Knowing that He is deep within, and outside as well; their doubts are dispelled.

O Nanak, God meets those, whose karma is perfect.
