May 5th is called Square Root Day.( S.R.D.)
SRD is celebrated on days when both the day of the month and the month are the square root of the last two digits of the year.
There are nine SRDs in every century.
They are: 1/1/1 , 2/2/4 , 3/3/9 , 4/4/16 , 5/5/25 , 6/6/36 , 7/7/49 , 8/8/64 , 9/9/81.
The event was devised by Ron Garden, an American school teacher from Redwood City, California, who invented it on 9/9/81.
Today is 5/5/25 -- The next SRD will be on 6/6/2036 and 9/9/2081.
