Last night my mom and I were sitting in the living room,
talking about life... In-between, we talked about the idea of living or dying.
I said to her: 'Mom,
never let me live in a vegetative state, totally dependent on machines and
liquids from a bottle. If you see me in that state I want you to disconnect all
the contraptions/devices that are keeping me alive'.
My mom asked "Are you sure?
I said "Yes Mom! I'd much rather die than being hooked
on machines and bottles.
Then my mom got up from the sofa with this real look of
admiration towards me...and proceeded to disconnect the TV, the Cable, the
Dish, the DVD, the Computer, the Cell Phone, the IPod, and the Xbox, and then
went to the fridge and threw away all my bottles of coke and beer !!
......I
ALMOST DIED!!!

ReplyDeleteBeing use to machines and liquids in today's world is important to us in order to make our life easy and there are so many advantage of these machines and liquids in medicine and technology field but relying on them more than required has the potential to make us less connected to our inner selves and being connected to our true self and around is what is true living. I am myself addicted to computer :).
