Think Before you Speak

Think what you will say before you open your mouth.

Be brief and precise because every time you let words out through your mouth, you let out a part of your vitality.

Do not complain and do not use your vocabulary to project negative images, as this will produce negativity all around you.

If you have nothing real, new and useful to say, it is better to keep quiet and not say anything.

Learn to be like a mirror that reflects.
Learn to listen carefully.
Take a moment of inner silence to consider everything that is presented, and then make your decisions.

Develop the art of speaking without losing energy.
Avoid judging and criticizing people. Be open-minded and non-judgmental. Each time you judge someone all you do is separate yourself from them. Simply, Express your opinion briefly and let it go. It is a waste of energy to spend time in arguments.

By not speaking, it does not mean your mind is also silent – the two must be synchronized.

Your inner silence (not outer) makes you calm and at peace.

The change is inevitable

There is nothing more certain than the fact that the world continuously keeps on changing. It always has and always will. The ‘world’, in Sanskrit, is known as ‘Jagat’, which literally means ‘constantly-changing’.
We cannot stop it from changing. We cannot alter the changes. All we can do is ‘accept the change’. Accepting, and not resisting this fundamental principle of the world is the key to peace and happiness.

Since beginning, philosophers from all over the world have tried to explain this fact in their own different ways. Such as:
1.   Everything is in God’s hands. Accept His will.
2.   Everything happens according to one’s own ‘Karma’. Accept the outcome of your Karma and move on.
3.   Everything happens for ‘good’. Accept the change and hope for something better.
4.   Be positive and accept the change because the positive attitude will bring better results.
5.    Some believe in some kind of a ‘higher-power’ that controls the world and our lives and others think that everything happens in an order and randomly as well. Since we cannot control everything, we might as well accept it. Since we cannot stop it if there is going to be a snow storm, then what is the point in complaining about it.

No matter how we perceive it, the bottom line is ‘acceptance’.

But, if nothing is in our control, then does it mean that we should not do anything; just sit and watch, and wait to see what happens? Then what is the role of our own free will?

I think, just as the Bhagvad Gita says, doing the best we can; to the best of our abilities, and accepting the outcome, and knowing what we can and cannot do, are the most important factors for living a peaceful and happy life.

“O’ God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference”

Emptiness

Try to attain the utmost ‘Emptiness’.

If there is no emptiness in between, the letters cannot be formed.
If there is no emptiness between the letters, then the words cannot be formed.
If there is no emptiness between the words, then the sentences cannot be formed.
We cannot fill the room completely with things; we need empty space to live in.
We need emptiness around us to walk.
Bigger the emptiness, farther we can go.
There is emptiness between everything we see.
There is emptiness between the thoughts also; between one thought and the other.
Longer the emptiness between the thoughts, more peace and bliss we will attain.

क्या जाने कल क्या हो . Who knows about tomorrow

दाग तेरे दामन के धुलें न धुलें
नेकियाँ तराजू में तुलें न तुलें
आज ही कर ले तू प्रभु का ध्यान
क्या जाने कल ये आँख खुले न खुले

Daagh tere daaman ke dhulen- na dhulen
Nekiyaan taraajoo me tulen na tulen
Aaj hi kar lay tu Prabhu ka dhyaan
Kya jaane kal ye aankh khulay na khulay

What is happiness / Kisi ka 'Halva-Poori' se bhi

Kisi ka 'Halva-Poori' se bhi dil nahin bhartaa
Koi khush ho jata hai 'chaaval aur daal' me
Koi phatay kambal me bhi so jaata hai 'Rajan'
Koi dhoondtaa phirtaa hai khushi zar aur maal me

Are We Happy?

Hundred years ago, the Kings and emperors did not have what we have today.......Cell phones, laptops, TV, automatic gadgets, airplanes or even cars. Today we have more than them, but are we happy?

We should be.....since we have all these comforts of life, but yet we are not.
Because attaining happiness is not an outside, but inside job.

Living on Machines and Liquids

Last night my mom and I were sitting in the living room, talking about life... In-between, we talked about the idea of living or dying.

I said to her: 'Mom, never let me live in a vegetative state, totally dependent on machines and liquids from a bottle. If you see me in that state I want you to disconnect all the contraptions/devices that are keeping me alive'.

My mom asked "Are you sure?

I said "Yes Mom! I'd much rather die than being hooked on machines and bottles.

Then my mom got up from the sofa with this real look of admiration towards me...and proceeded to disconnect the TV, the Cable, the Dish, the DVD, the Computer, the Cell Phone, the IPod, and the Xbox, and then went to the fridge and threw away all my bottles of coke and beer  !!

           ......I ALMOST DIED!!!

Eat less, Sleep less and do not speak too much.

Get rid of all vices and turn your mind away from Maya; the illusions and undue attachments of the world.

By holding on to the Gyan, the ‘True knowledge’, destroy the castle of ignorance.

Night and day, engross your mind in the name of the Lord.
