Coins make lot of noise

Coins make lot of noise but the currency notes are silent.

Those who have greater value do not make much noise.

Contended

Contended are not those who have a lot

But those, whose needs are less. 

Controlling the Emotions

Whenever the energy of our consciousness is weak, mind takes over and we become emotional. 

When the emotions become dominant, we become restless and agitated. 

According to the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita, solution is the “Saakshi-Bhaava”; to detach our self from the situation and become an ‘observer’, a witness.

Detach from the sense of being the ‘doer’ or the subject, stand back and simply watch the inner storm pass.

It’s like sitting inside a secured home and watching a storm through the window.  

Detached observation withdraws the energy which the emotions require to sustain them.

If we watch our own anger, it dies.

If we watch our own ego, it shatters.

But if we don’t, then it becomes our master.

“Sadaa Saakshi Nirpekshah Sukham Char” (Ashtavakra Gita 15:4)

“By becoming unbiased; ‘Detached Observer’, stay happy and peaceful forever.”    (Ashtavakra Gita 15:4)

We are all growing

The universe is constantly expanding. So are we.

Every individual is constantly growing, expanding and becoming ‘more’ in his own way; in knowledge, experience and possession.

The Indian Holy scriptures declare “Jo Brahmanday soi Pinday”

“What is in the outer universe, the same is within.”

Just like the outer universe, the individual consciousness also constantly expands.

I think ‘Expanding’ could be defined in two different ways;

1.      Moving away from the center or

2.    Reaching farther and bringing ‘more’ into one’s own fold.

The question is which way are we expanding?

Are we moving away from the ‘center’, from the real ‘Self”, from God in order to expand our experience of worldly pleasures?

Are we simply trying to expand in terms of worldly possessions and power only or in spiritual aspects and virtues as well?

Is it the sense of ‘oneness’, or is it our ego which is growing and expanding more?

These are the questions we should ask, not others, but ourselves.

That is why the great ‘Upanishads’ command: 

                “Watch your thoughts”.

Find your Balloon

एक बार पचास-साठ  लोगों का ग्रुप किसी सेमीनार में हिस्सा ले रहा था।
सेमीनार शुरू हुए अभी कुछ ही मिनट बीते थे कि स्पीकर अचानक ही रुका और सभी पार्टिसिपेंट्स को गुब्बारे  देते हुए बोला  “आप सभी अपने अपने गुब्बारे पर इस मार्कर से अपना नाम लिखिए “। सभी ने ऐसा ही किया।

अब गुब्बारों को एक दुसरे कमरे में रख दिया गया।

स्पीकर ने अब सभी को एक साथ कमरे में जाकर पांच मिनट के अंदर अपने नाम वाला गुब्बारा ढूंढने के लिए कहा।

सारे पार्टिसिपेंट्स तेजी से कमरे में घुसे और पागलों की तरह अपने नाम वाला गुब्बारा ढूंढने लगे। पर इस अफरा-तफरी में किसी को भी अपने नाम वाला गुब्बारा नहीं मिल पा रहा था..   पाँच  मिनट बाद सभी को वापिस कमरे से बाहर बुला लिया गया।

स्पीकर बोला, ” अरे! क्या हुआ, आप सभी खाली हाथ क्यों हैं ?

 क्या किसी को भी अपने नाम वाला गुब्बारा नहीं मिला ?”

एक पार्टिसिपेंट कुछ मायूस होते हुए बोला।

“नहीं ! हमने बहुत ढूंढा पर हमेशा किसी और के नाम का ही गुब्बारा हाथ आया”, 

 ​"​कोई बात नहीं , आप लोग एक बार फिर कमरे में जाइये, पर इस बार जिसे जो भी गुब्बारा मिले उसी को अपने हाथ में लेकर उस व्यक्ति का नाम पुकारे जिसका नाम उसपर लिखा हुआ है।​"​  स्पीकर ने निर्देश दिया।

एक बार फिर सभी पार्टिसिपेंट्स कमरे में गए, पर इस बार सब शांत थे, और कमरे में किसी तरह की अफरा- तफरी नहीं मची । सभी ने एक दुसरे को उनके नाम के गुब्बारे दिए और तीन मिनट में ही बाहर निकले आये।

स्पीकर ने गम्भीर होते हुए कहा:

​"​बिलकुल यही बात हमारे जीवन में भी हो रही है। हर कोई अपने लिए ही जी रहा है , उसे इससे कोई मतलब नहीं कि वह किस तरह औरों की मदद कर सकता है, वह तो बस पागलों की तरह अपनी ही खुशियां और अपना ही हक़  ढूंढ रहा है, पर बहुत ढूंढने के बाद भी उसे कुछ नहीं मिलता

दोस्तो….. हमारी ख़ुशी दूसरों की ख़ुशी में छिपी हुई है।

जब तुम औरों को उनका हक़ और उनकी खुशियां देना सीख जाओगे तो तुम्हारा हक़ और तुम्हारी खुशियां भी तुम्हे अपने आप ही मिल जाएँगी।​"​
